Thrifty Car Rental hidden contract language - deceptive practice Nationwide
I rented a car from Thrifty Car Rental for 11 days. My contract amount was for $113.05 per week and additional days @$15.99 for a contract total of $177.01. My business trip was cut short by a few days and I returned the car 3 days early. I did not expect that to be a problem and figured that I would still be obligated to the total contract cost of $177.01. THATS NOT WHAT HAPPENED !! Thrifty actually penalized me for bringing the car back early and charged me $754.62! They said I broke the contract by bringing the car back early and that they had the right to re-rate it. So I actually paid $754.62 for 6 days of use instead of $177.01 for 11 days. When I called customer service, (it wasn't much customer service that at all) I was told that I should have read the entire contract before renting the car...( Who has time to do that when your in a busy airport and have been waiting in line for 30-45 min before you get to talk to an agent and several people are waiting in line behind you.) RENTER BEWARE - Thrifty's policys and rude customer support will cost you!! I will never use Thrifty Car rental again !!
