I am an adjuster, that went to work in GOOD FAITH for this company in 2004-2005. Myself and 5 other adjusters worked with the company and the operation is a complete SCAM! It makes the movie the "Sting" back in the 70's seem like a picnic. The owner, Bill Ferguson is the ultimate CON. I am not sure who he con's worst, his own sales people or the people that sign up to have roofs put on by him. First of all, he has to be stopped. It is amazing that someone this crooked can keep operating under the licenses and in all the markets he does. Bill allows his sales people to sale sale sale, and lets them get in DEEP with him. He uses a stall technique of telling the sales people to tell the homeowner that "Because of the storm damages being so severe Mrs.._______, its gonna be a while before we can get you roofed. Surely you understand?" The homeowner goes along with it cause Bill's marketing materials are so good. What happened with us as a sales force is that we went out and sold 50-75 roofs, in good faith and of course they were not getting roofed. Bill would stall, on PURPOSE. What happened next would be that the sales person would quit out of frustration and BINGO, Bill just made 10% commission BACK, cause they left without the roof being finished. His sales contracts are worded as such that if you leave (as a sales person), you don't get your money. Which is what Bill is banking on. So when you have sold some 50 roofs, in a market where the cost of shingles and labor is high, (lets say 50 roofs x $12,000 (Average roof in Florida) then you have $600,000 in sales and thats $60,000 in commission that BILL DOES NOT HAVE to pay out. All because the sales person quit! Ok, multiply that times 20 sales people and thats One million two hundred thousand dollars that Bill got out of paying in commission. So who got that money? You guessed it, BILL. Its a scam of scams. In Florida he gets the home owner to sign a Notice of Commencement (NOC)form which put a lein against one's house. SO he's got the home owner if they try and get out or go with another roofing company. Its sweet, if you are Bill. If you are the sales force or the homeowner, its a nightmare. 18 months later I am still getting phone calls from homeowners that have roofs that leak. Its a mess. We are at present working with an attorney for back wages. There is an OUT. Bill has people sign NOC's without being in the presence of a Notary. Of course this is not legal. He'll go to jail for this. And there are cases pending even right now (8-23-06) for this fraud. The key is to get the word out that this company and this owner are FRAUD. They have no concern for anybody that works for them or who they sale to. Sales people and home owners, beware....You are gonna get STUNG!
