We responded to an ad ran on our local ABC station for Time Warner Cable in February 2008. They advertised Hi Speed Road Runner, Digital Phone with Long Distance, and 72 Channels of Cable TV For $79.85 For the first year and $84.85 for the second year. "Guaranteed Rates"

for 2 years! All of this with free installation. Well, our first monthly bill showed up in March 2008 and it was 95.91. So, I called Time Warner Cable Customer Service at 513-469-1112 which was printed on our bill. I spoke to a customer service rep named sherry and she said there was no sales promotion for 79.85. I explained to her that we responded to their advertisement for the 3 services for $79.85. She finally agreed to credit our account for $15.00 to cover the difference in what we agreed to on the original "Phone Contract Confirmation". Well, then our April 2008 Bill showed up in the mailbox. It was $109.27. I again called Time Warner Cable Customer Service and spoke to Randyl. I asked Randy why our bill is $109.27? He says that someone in customer service took us out of our $79.85 "Price Lock Guarantee". I instructed him that we did NOT give anyone permission to remove our price lock guarantee. He said the only thing he could do is refer us to the retention department to see if they could return our account to the original price lock plan.

Oh Boy, The retention department says that I requested to be charged a higher price for their services. "What a Freek'n Bonehead"! I responded! To make a longer story shorter, I paid $83.71 per month for March and April and refused to pay these "Time Warner Cable Bait and Switch" Prices. I gave Time Warner Cable 48 Hours to fix my account or I would switch back to Cincinnati Bell. Time Warner Cable "Did Not Care"! So I called Cincinnati Bell and Explained my situation to them. They said, " If I come back to Cincinnati Bell, They would give me home phone and unlimited long distance, and hi speed zoomtown internet for a price of $32.00 per month plus tax". Needless to say, I jumped on the price and Cincinnati Bell is billing me correctly. I then contacted Time Warner Cable and cancelled digital phone and hi speed internet roadrunner service. This brought my cable bill down to $39.99 per month. So as you can see--Time Warner Cable Shot Themselves In the foot, because now I get all three services for 71.99 per month.

I wish there was another cable TV provider because Time Warner Cable's Bait and Switch Tactics are unethical and illegal. Time Warner Cable DOES NOT CARE about the CUSTOMER just the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR!! Thank You Cincinnati Bell For Your Professional Customer Service! Cincinnati Bell will soon be offering cable TV through the Phone Line. I Can't wait to tell Time Warner Cable To Stick It!! Once again, Thank You CINCINNATI BELL FOR YOUR PROFESSIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Happy New Year!

I worked for TWC and left because of the way they wanted me to lie to people. I do have to say the 79.85 deal was for standard cable (channels 1-78ish) road runner LITE the slowest speed and LOCAL calls. You may have asked for unlimited long distance and they would not tell you the differance. The ads TWC runs for these "great deals" are ALWAYS for the least amount of services you can get (meaning standard cable - slowest speed internet and local calling phone) and the sales dept FEASTS on these people calling thinking that the 79 deal is for more service....and the reason people think its for more service is because in these 79 ads they will also advertise "free showtime" or "free dvr service" or "free turbo charge road runner" then NOT explain that you have to UPGRADE each service to get those extra freebies so you do end up paying ALOT more then the great 79 dollar deal. The price lock isnt much of a lock either...it will go up 5 to 10 after the 1st 12 months, and the price lock DOES NOT include the price of equipment or preimium channels like showtime hbo cinimax etc SOOOO they will give you say HBO free for 2-3 months then start billing you the 12.45 for it. Not much of a locked in price there.
