Time Warner Cable Northeast Ohio Digital Phone Problems With Service and Changed Rates without Notification ripoff Hermitage Nationwide
I signed on with Time Warner years ago for internet and tv services. Recently digital phone became available in my area, and after much haggling, I signed up for it because it was a savings for me to switch. My husband makes several international calls to the Philippines, and when I made the switch just 2 months ago, the calls were to cost .14 per minute to a landline, and .16 to a cell phone. Just 3 weeks later the charges jumped to .19 per minute and .21 per minute.
Now, after checking again, they are up to .21 per minute and .24 per minute. I called and complained, and I was told that in order to always know how much a call is going to cost, we should call Time Warner before make each call, to see if the rates changed!!! I told him that was crazy! I was going to sit on hold for 40 minutes every time I wanted to make a call to the Philippines, just to see how much it was going to cost me? My husband calls every other day, sometimes more than once a day.
Also, my caller id was not working after I got digital phone. After the service man came to my house and determined nothing was wrong, I went round and round with their techinicians troubleshooting.
This went on for over a month. Another service man came to the house, still nothing fixed. More time consuming phone calls to tech support. Another service man comes to the house, he determines that my $159.00 telephone is the problem. It is not compatible with the services that digita phone offers. The only way to fix it is to get a new phone, and HOPE that it is compatible. They don't even have a list to provide you with.
I am cancelling this service, I am sick and tired of the outrageous hold times with people who are functioning on half a brain. DON'T GET DIGITAL PHONE!!!! I do not believe they knew what they were getting into when they started providing this service.
