I had Time Warner Cables international calling for digital phone. Firstly, I would like to point out that depending on your region in the U.S., apparently digital phone service (which is flat rate for a reason) costs different things. To call Australia from New England will cost you $1.55, but if you go just a few states south it's only .25 cents. No one could quite explain this deficit, and even got a shocking response from the Time Warner Cable employees.

But further more, their website is flawed. If you search for it on google, they give you some random time warner website that is not necessarily for your region. Then - based on the website you visited, Time Warner Cable locks you into that area and only gives you prices for that area without really telling you. Even in the fine print, it implies that prices vary but it doesn't give you any real reason to think they do.

When I called them up, and I held up my consumer responsibilities to ask questions, they informed me they were not knowledgeable, and did not explain there was a certain Time Warner Cable website I should be visiting.

Furthermore, on this international calling plan I had you were only alloted 3,000 minutes to use. I kept a good tally of what I was spending, I am a student and do know how to do that because money is already tight, and at 25c a minute it wasn't racking up to be that high of a price.

Time Warner Cable employees did go out of their way to call me and let me know when I was getting close to my 3,000 minute limit as to not cost them any money, but no one bothered to tell me that I was close to 2,000 dollars as well.

Their advertising and website were deceiving. What makes consumers confident is that their provider is clear and concise about what will be on their bill. When I called they said "well it would be assumed you would be in the New England website". A company can not rely on their customers to assume correctly, which is why there is such thing as small print. It is a businesses job to make it so there is no area to misunderstand within reason. I should not be paying for their faulty website and unclear advertising. I offered to pay the 25c a minute and they could refund the difference, but they called me unreasonable.
