Your drop ( the cable connecting your house to the nearest pedstal/ aka the cable system) is way too long. The only way to fix the problem is for them to put in a 320 line drop (and that may not work) or build the system so there is a pedstal closer to your house. They would have a cost to build 1 closer to you, and may past it on to you. The 320 line may work ( it is a bigger peice of cable so it allows more signal to come to your home) but if your home is over 100 ft. away it probably won't. DON'T EVEN TRY TO EXPLAIN THIS TO THE PEOPLE IN THE CALL CENTER!!!!!!!! They will have no clue what you are talking about. Schedule another trouble call and tell them you need an IN HOUSE TECH (NO CONTRACTOR) to do it only. Then when the tech comes out explain this to him.................he should know as soon as he shows up and sees the drop what is wrong. He will have the power to start the process to fix it. It sound like you have had horrible luck between the call center being clueless and having 'i don't give a crap' contractors running your trouble calls........... i hope this helps! Good luck!
