Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
A few months ago, I made hotel reservations on priceline.com. I did not sign up for anything to my knowledge. Only made and paid for hotel reservations. Shortly after, I started receiving checks in the mail from TLG Great Fun. The checks were always for $10, and I always just threw them in the trash. I had never heard of Great Fun, had no idea what kind of company they were, and was not interested in finding out. A couple of weeks later, I see a charge on my bank statement for $11.99. This caused debit charges I had made for around $5 each, to bounce. Now, because of this charge, my account was negative almost $100. I called the number on my bank statement, to find out what the charge was for, and to make sure no other charges would be made to my account. The person on the phone tried to persuade me to "stay" a member and receive discounts at K-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City etc. I have no idea if I would really benefit from using the company or not, but I do know that I do not want to pay for something that I haven't asked for. When I called I profusely stated that I did not want to be a member, and that I did not want to see a charge from them on my account again. This morning, I signed in to check and reconcile my bank statement, and once again was shocked to see a charge on my account from TLG Great Fun for $11.99. The lady on the phone sounded like she was saying her name was Seth. I was so frustrated with her lack of admitting they had done anything wrong. I told her that I had called before and asked to have this junk cancelled. She wanted to know my confirmation #. Well that was months ago, and I don't know what I've done with it. She offered to put her supervisor on the phone to prove to me that I had joined and agreed to pay for a membership. Well, no matter how many people from that company try to convince me I signed up for a "membership", I know that I didn't. I don't have the kind of money to pay $12 a month to maybe get discounts at store that I rarely can afford to shop at in the first place. She continued to try to convince me what a benefit keeping my membership would be, then she actually had the gall to try and offer me other services. Finally I told her, I don't want to hear anything come out of your mouth except for to relay details to me about the cancellation and a promise that I will NEVER see another charge from you on my bank statement again. I have a confirmation number, and I will keep it saved in a safe place until I die, lest this ever happen again. It was rediculous how nice and polite this woman stayed while completely ignoring any wrong doing on the part of her company. Every time I see the name Great Fun on a piece of mail in my box I want to set it on fire.
