I noticed this morning, 8/21/07, via the automated phone system of my bank, that $11.99 had been debited/charged to my account on 8/20 from TLG Great Fun. Well, never heard of them, nor was I online, on the phone, or in a location, for that particular company. After doing google searches while dealing with my bank, found so many complaints against them from people having made purchases of items on various websites (in my case, a purchase of one CD from deepdiscounts.com) and TLG seemed sign people up for a membership without permission, and no authorization for charging for said membership either. Got them on the phone, with the bank rep on the line, and they weren't all that cooperative. Sure, got a confirmation to cancel number and was told in 10-15 days the money would be credited back to me. When the bank asked for a fax on letterhead, of this the TLG rep wouldn't do so. Also, they are a subsidiary of Trilegiant Co., which recently changed it's name. I would recommend that if anyone orders anything online, do so only at legitimate department store websites, and Amazon.com I know I won't buy something on a site that I'm not sure of anymore! I'm glad I caught this and changed my bank account info before TLG started making numerous charges. Seems they do various amounts, which is awful!

I feel that Hotwire is guilty of deceptive business practices, to say the very least. If they are an ethical company, somewhere on their site they should tell you that when you purchase tickets, or a vacation package, or a car rental, you are also going to be signed up for TLG without your consent or knowledge. There is no button at the bottom of the screen to accept or reject being signed up for TLG when you purchase a vacation package with Hotwire. We tried it again this morning just to be sure. They simply "farm" out your credit card number, despite what they say . . Hotwire stinks.
