I have purchased prepaid phone with 50$ rebate. To get the rebate I searched the tmobile web site for a rebate form for the purchased phone. I found one and carefully filled all the required information, clipped the sticker from the box and mailed everything to the rebate center.

One month later I received a later stating that the rebate was denied because the phone number is not currently active. Called tmobile and spoke with a guy name Josh (number 493612). I explained my situation and told him I am a prepaid customer and he said that this is why my number did not show up as having service associated with it. He reentered my information to the system and said that it will be reprocessed. He did not tell me anything about wrong rebate form or anything else and I have not heard from tmobile since.

Today I called to check the status of rebate and was told that it has been denied even the second time and that the rebate offer expired and it cannot be granted anymore. I inquired what is the reason it was denied and was told again that the number is not active -I told them they are wrong since I am using the phone all the time.

Finally another rep Cristal (#494533)told me that I filled a wrong form - this was news to me but I remeber that it was hard to find a rebate form on tmobile website and this was the only one I could locate. I spoke to another supervisor Rob (#492825) and was told he understands my frustration but cannot do anything because the offer expired - it did not matter to them that everything has been filed before the offer expired and that it was at the first place Josh's failure to inform me that the reason for denial was a wrong form.

I find this to be a grand rebate scam - 1) rebate forms are confusing and difficult to find on line (I challenge everyone to go to prepaid t mobilephonmobile.com/shop/Phones/Prepaid.aspx and try to find the rebate form) , 2) you avoid helping the customer to correct the error and mislead him to believe that everthing will be fine, 3) processing time for all forms takes up to 2 months and after a while the rebates expire and this is enough to deny rebate even if the original form was filed in a timely manner - what a wonderful way to make money by ripping off consumers.

I will keep the phone but after I use up my prepaid minutes I am buying a new SIM card and leaving Tmobile - no reason to stuff more cash up their throat.

if your attitude represents the attitude of the customer service reps at t-mobile, it only strengthens my joy at switching companies. your cruel attitude towards these confused customers is unaccaptable. if you are expecting the whole united states population to know every rule and policy of your company, you're unrealistic. especially when they're strange policies other larger companies do not use. i hope your company doesn't find you on here and terminate your position for speaking to their clients in this manner!
