Complaint Review: To Have & To Hold - San Francisco California

Planning a wedding is already a big stress. If you happen to use a bad wedding shop, it is even worse.

We ran into "To Have & To Hold" by accident. They offered us decoration, floral, tux rental, and favors at a very good price. So we thought it would save us energy and time to do all that on our own. So we hired them to pretty much all the decoration, floral, tux rental, and wedding favors for our wedding.

However, the nightmare began..

It was almost impossible to find them before the wedding. I had to keep on calling continuously to get to someone. It really made me anxious and angry.

Finally, I got to talk to Angela. She promised to deliver the favors to me. I went to their sunset office twice in order to actually get something. It was because they didn't care about their promise. They kept on missing the deliver date. They had no concern of wasting your energy and efforts. When I finally got the favors, more than half of them were broken, chipped, or scratched. I have to pick out one by one to barely get some that could be accepted.

We were very concern about the service of their work by then. However, we had already paid 60% of the money. So we just hoped they have some goodness in them.

On the wedding date, they were late to do the decoration at the church and at the banquet.

Another horrible thing was they gave me a bouquet that made from the roses you would definitely throw in the garbage can. I was looking at the bouquet and almost cried. Remember! I have to hold the bouquet for the rest of the day. I was so embarrassed to even hold it on my hand. So I just put it away after taking the pictures.

It isn't the end of the nightmare. We put down the deposit for the tux. Luckily, we didn't pay them in full yet. Otherwise, we lost more money and energy.

We had returned everything. We trusted them they would return our deposit which was not a lot. So I called Angela and she said she would mail it back to us. Then she never did. So I called Stanley. And he told me he would stop by Belmont and gave it to us. And never did. After that, he made up of different stories about not able to stop by my place. I went to Chinatown to confront him. And he said he didnt have the money with him and kept on making up excuses and kept on making false promise. I didn't trust any words they said anymore. However, what can we do? THEY HAVE NO CONCERN ABOUT THEIR QUALITY OF WORK AND NO CONCERN ABOUT MAKING THEIR CUSTOMER ANGRY.

We don't live in SF. We need to spend so much hours and energy to try to get just $160 back. It was really not worth it. My husband and I were so frustrated and tired. We tried to call them and they no longer picked up the call from us. We never get our money back.

After all, we calculated that we had spent way too much time and energy with this company which had cost us more than what we had saved. Plus, it became a bad memory in part of our wedding. It is totally not worth it.

And I think they have another office in San Jose. However, I don't know the address for that.
