I had my pontoon boat on consignment at the Melbourne store. Frank saw my boat for sale in boat trader and contacted me about bringing it to Melbourne and selling it for me. He also told me that the marina would possibly buy it from me. The boat was delivered in September 2019. Being the boat did not sell earlier this year I had advertised it in Austin, Texas where I’m currently living. I had over 25 interested people contact me.
I had a carrier pick it up and deliver it to me on Friday, May 8. I was horrified when I saw the boat.
When I did the consignment with Topnotch I was assured by Frank the boat would be taken care of and not left in the sun uncovered. I explained to him that I had a loan on this boat and I needed to at least get the pay off. Not only are my seats ruined everything was stolen off the boat. I had 13 life jackets, I had a boat emergency kit, anchor, 3 person tube with tow lines, 8 boat bumpers, 2 boat poles, and a boat cover. My 2 batteries are dead and the estimate for the seats is about $4,000.
I contacted Melbourne and Greg told me he would look into it have not heard from him. These items listed were with the boat when it was delivered in Melbourne because Frank called me and said he had received everything. I now have a boat that can’t be used or sold and I still owe 17,500 on it. I feel that the marina should be responsible for reimbursing me for the damages and the list of items missing that was over $1800 in items.
I have attached pictures, this is how I received my boat in Texas. I have been trying to call Jim for almost 2 months now and have not heard anything. I understood from other people he treated customers fairly, I don't feel that I'm being treated fairly.
