Since buying my Toshiba Satellite A75 from Best Buy ist has been in Service four times with the same problem. Power related and it cannot run unless the battery is charging.

It doesn't run just on AC unless the battery is charging and the power plug could be in but not work. It would also power down when plugged in. It has been at the Best Buy Geeks 3x and cost me over $300 and then Toshiba Support told me to take it to Alphanumerics in Raleigh where it has been for the past month still waiting for a new system board and battery.

I would not suggest anyone to buy Toshiba regardless of price. My was $1600 and was junk. I had a Thinkpad for over ten years with no problem other than I couldn't update the hardware. I would buy Lenovo and stay away from Toshiba.

I have since learned that Toshiba lost a class action suite for the same problem on their Satellite Pro series.
