Complaint Review: Toyota Camry - Maryland

You are right on track! Oil consumption, sludge production, failed engine oil control components, and higher emissions/failed emissions testing should send the message loudly and clearly to Toyota that its sludge problem is far more complicated than just engine damage! This insidious engine problem is causing our environment to deteriorate, isn't it?!? Too much oil is being consumed and pollutants are being added to the air at an alarming rate! WHY? According to Toyota owners, it is because Toyota made an engineering error. Despite proper maintenance, these engines are still self-destructing and causing a polluted environment! Why do engine oil analyses show "abnormal oil condition" and high NOx conditions in the engine oil? Why are some seeing glycol contamination? Why are metal flakes seen in the oil pan? Why are these engines causing the oil to degrade so quickly (TBN less than one)? The owners want to know! All this has such irony, though, since Toyota is touting the "Going Green" concept. Through PR, it is trying to make us thing that the vehicles it produces are so enironmentally-clean. In fact, owners report that they are not! Just take a look at the "Toyota Owners Unite for Resolution: Engine Oil Sludge" and read the number of vehicles reporting failed emssions testing in a later model Toyota! Read further the number of Toyota owners whose vehicles end up with excessive oil consumption and/or sudden unexpected loss of engine oil. Truly, it is all quite bizarre. No one has satisfactorily explained what is happening withint these engines. Toyota has continued to blame the owners, though. This is unconscionable! When will this mistreatment stop? Charlene

You are experiencing the SLUDGE PROBLEM! 'Google' the two words ENGINE SLUDGE and read about people just like you! You can also read my SLUDGE POEM that is Posted on this site (here at Toyota) from a few weeks ago. The CEO of Toyota quit just after the poem. What a coincidence. To all consumers: There are over 16 MILLION New Cars sold in the USA each year. If only 5% of these transactions have warranties included in the deal that the CUSTOMER DOES NOT KNOW ABOUT, then 800,000 consumers have WARRANTIES UNKNOWN TO THEM! If the average WARRANTY costs $2,000, then $1.6 BILLION in WARRANTIES were sold to consumers WITHOUT THEIR KNOWLEDGE! (And this is only for New Car Buyers!) You must contact the Bank where your Vehicle was Financed. DO NOT TRUST the copies that were given to you by the DEALERSHIP!! Also, get the INVOICE from the Bank too. There is a chance that the Dealer ALTERED your INVOICE so that the Loan would go through. This is usually done when a customer TRADES IN a car with NEGATIVE EQUITY. The Dealer will Manipulate the INVOICE and supply a FALSIFIED INVOICE TO THE BANK! If this was done to you then you can sue them and you will win! For those who Purchased a Used Car from a Dealer, get the USED CAR DATA SHEET that must accompany the Loan Dovuments to the Bank. If that sheet says that your car has a POWER SUNROOF and it does not, then the Documents that were sent to the Bank were FALSIFIED and you can sue and you will win! Take control of your own destiny. No one else will do it for you. You can get back at the Dealerships in a way you cannot imagine! What goes around, comes around! P.S. "..many other fine cars on the market...". Where? You have a 6 year year old vehicle that burns a quart of oil every 1000 miles. What's a quart of oil cost now-a-days? $2? How long does it take you to drive a 1000 miles? Get over it. Lord, chrysler just recalled what a half millon NEW vehicles. Ford recalled another millon new or newer vehicles. You bought a frickkin' toyota camry. We're not talking big bucks here. Unless you plan on spending some major cash, you're not gonna get much anymore. Read the CR report this month about keeping vehicles running over 200,000 miles. Here's looking for karl to jump in.
