I wanted to port my wifes phone number to Cricket Wireless. She had used up her minutes and time 2 days ago so that we wouldn't be wasting money. They refused to release the number unless I bought another month of service, that I would have immediately lost when we switched companies. They also lied to me after being on the phone with them for a half hour. They said that the number had been released to Cricket. The rep was a guy named Joe, whome I reached at corporate after asking to be transferred to the United States. He refused to give me his last name. That was a lie. After making an additional trip to Cricket (35 miles away) the lady at the cricket store checked and said that they had not released the number. I Called back, and spent 2 hours on the phone. I got nowhere. I asked to speak to the CEO, and was told that he does not accept calls. This company is no good.

Hi Shane Meeker,
I have read your post in this blog and I deeply apologize for the inconvenience you have gone through. Please be advised that a phone number cannot be transferred to another service provider if it is not active anymore. There is a very big possibility that your phone number was already deactivated while the port was processed. Once an account/phone number is not active anymore, we will lose hold of the number. This means, we cannot even access it for release or port. This is why you were asked to reactivate your account by adding a plan to it. We’re sorry if we cannot provide our last names. We are actually not encouraged to do so. However, there is no reason that you should experience all the trouble you went through. I believe that we can still look for ways to work this out. Feel free to contact us through chat at bit.ly/2qdrKHH for further assistance. Our customer representatives are available Monday-Sunday from 8:00 AM to 11:45 PM EST. Thank you.
