Hi all... a few observations about Trans CONtinental Talent. I found the posting on monster.com that I could be a "talent scout", that I would be put through an intense training of the industry, blah, blah, blah. Day 1: I go to the "open-call" for potential scouts and find about 15 others there too. This one is in Ferndale, MI. "Amber" the so-called Office Director who is nothing more than a 22 yr. old with an ego trip pops in the "Zoolander" movie and takes off for about 30 mins. We look at the brochure about the company and get suckered into that one. She comes back and announces a bunch of crap to, once again, fulfill her ego so that we "ooh and ahh" and just gush over her accomplishments of the 10 languages she can speak (she couldn't put an intellectual sentence together if she tried, does she do that in 10 languages too??). She reads off a few names and those are the ones that are invited back after a 1 hour lunch. We head back to find there are about 6 of us and they start talking about the so-called base pay and compensation. She rattles off numbers so fast we are all looking at each other funny. Day 2: We end up back at the office to go through our "intense" script training which took all but 40 mins. for all of us to get through. While we are standing there about 30 people come walking through the door, more potential "scouts" for hire. In goes the "Zoolander" movie. We break up into 2 groups and get sent to the 2 closest malls. Now how exactly do you appraoch someone without them thinking you are bull****ing them? Very hard to do since you personally don't see yourself as a con-artist, but in reality this place just gave you 40 minutes of the ART OF THE CON. You are the prostitute whoring the goods and TransCON is the big daddy PIMP. That night I made a few phone calls to some actor friends down in Orlando and asked what they thought of the whole Trans-CONjob thing and they enlightened me, one actually fell for it, paid the money, got nowhere. About six months of paying for that "exposure" he went to a reputable agency and within 3 weeks was cast in an HBO miniseries and actually GOT PAID good money for that. He attempted to cancel with Con-job and was triple billed on his credit card. CON-job also reported him to the credit bureau for non-payment so they screwed his credit too. Scouting: How does this sound to you folks.... A scout will only get $20-$100 per ENROLLMENT depending on how many you scout. Since the life expectancy of a scout only lasts about 30 days you have to get at least 25 enrollments in that time. Ferndale, MI charges $795 for enrollment alone.(Other TransCon places charge far less, more like $595) SO.....$795 x 25= $19,875. Even if I can only get 24 enrolled that is $795 x 24= $19,080 and I still get "fired" since I didn't get the 25 they wanted. They still makeout like the bandits they are. Mind you they do not reimburse for gas to drive all over God's country looking for hopefuls. And that base pay, psssshhhttt, you only get that if you can do the 25 and THEN you still have to do 20 enrollments per month in order to KEEP the $600 a week rolling in. Either way a "scout" loses therefore they keep recruiting new scouts knowing that someone is bound to have a good pick-up line and will be able to reel in someone with stars in their eyes. I got "Amber's" license plate number since her little purple Sunfire was parked out front. For a gal that bragged about how much "tons of money" she makes there I figured she would be driving a Jaguar or something. I'll deal with her first then I will move on to "Melissa". Sorry ladies, it's all about the KARMA! Soooo I am planning up a real surprise for her and her sidekick, Melissa. Luckily I took a HUGE stack of "scouting" cards and within the next few weeks I will be heading out to the best FEMALE IMPERSONATOR club in the Detroit area to do my scouting. I have also made up some nice cards with the phone number on it to pass out at Stiletto's which is a l*****n club, next I will hit the biker bars. They said ANYONE didn't they? So all-in-all this is NOT a good idea for ANYONE looking for a job or looking to be a model unless you have a couple thousand dollars to throw away or you have piss poor credit already. Either way you get screwed without a goodnight kiss. By the way, any insiders there? What happens to our SS# when we had to write that down on the page we tore out of the book? What exactly do they do with that info? I am curious since they know you won't make it past the 30 day trial why would they need for? Another potential scam, maybe? Troy Romulus, Michigan

What happens to our Social Security number they took from us the day we were "hired"? To be on the safe side call your Credit Bureau's Fraud Departments to add a FRAUD ALERT to your credit report. It is very simple, follow the prompts and have a pen ready for the confirmation number. EQUIFAX: 888-766-0008 EXPERIAN: 888-397-3742 Trans Union: 800-680-7289 The Ferndale, MI Police Dept. (where this fraud happened) stated "We cannot do anything until Identity Theft has already occured" meaning you cannot file a police report until you know for sure they used your SS# for fraudulent reasons. You have this number for life so it is important every year to place these fraud alerts on your credit reports. There is a possibility that it will not be used "this year", however, these hustlers can hold on to this info and use it next year or 10 years down the road. Protect yourself, you have been scammed once, don't let it happen again. They are in the money making business so I would also assume you have been SOLD to other crooked businesses as well. Another idea you may want to do is to contact your local news team. Most likely they have already done a report on Trans Continental (you can sift through their archives), tell them to investigate again. Demand it! Give them any and all information you have to build an investiagtion. The nation's 50 state Attorneys General are also responsible for protecting the public against fraudulent and deceptive telemarketers and others who prey on unsuspecting victims. Several of them have their own web sites and can provide you with specific information on their activities (cut and paste link) http://www.fraud.org/info/links.htm#agsoffices Hopefully some of this information will help!
