Beware of Trans Tech Merchant Group (TMG) and their apparent sister companies like Summit and Apex. I have worked in this industry for years and have dealt with many companies. The customer service is poor. Should you need to call them you will waste a lot of time on the phone holding. When you send in a cancelation request never assume they have it always follow up with a phone call. They may claim we do not have a record of receiving it. The after they admit they have it, it will take 30 days to process. This just gives them another month to charge you another monthly and minimum fee. The contacts are written so that not matter what rates you sign for in the initial
agreement they can add any fee without any recourse unless you want to cancel, but then you will need to pay a termination fee. If you sign up for PIN Based debit service it is a separate service and a different cancelation fee. They lease equipment which is an expensive way to acquire equipment. In fact all credit card equipment leases I have read, you never own the equipment until you have fulfilled all payments, but then you need to buy the equipment for the residual value. Not smart! The processing rates they charge are average at best. If you are a business owner that has been burned by TMG, flight them by complaining to local and state consumer agency. If they get away with it they will continue harming others. Ray with Tampa Bay Merchant Services
