Hello,

This is a time line of events regarding this travel scam and the reason why I am writing this review. I too received a fax at work and figured to give it a try but boy was I wrong.

On 11/29/12 I put a down payment of $600 to book a trip with Michelle at Ext 3337.

On 1/10/2013 I paid for the remaining balance of $900 for the trip for a group of 10.

On 1/11/2013 as I attempted to begin booking my trip with the Travel Center because I was already given the code over the phone ( I never received any vouchers in the mail) to begin the activation process but I was informed by the Travel Center that I could not book as a group and that the manager of the company that I purchased the trip from was notified of this matter. I spoke with Wayne in customer service from Travel Consultants
International who informed me that they would try to rectify the situation with the Travel Center.

On 1/14/2013 I called Wayne who informed me that he could not resolve the situation with the Travel Center and that I would need to fill out a refund request.

On 1/17/2013 I completed the refund request information which was sent to me by Ed Roberts. I was also told at this time that the process takes 7-10 business days.

On 1/24/2012 and 1/28/2013 I sent emails to Ed Roberts inquiring about the status of my refund request but received no response.

On 2/1/2013 I was able to get in contact with Ed Roberts who informed me that refund requests go through their New York office and that they were waiting on them to approve the request and process the refund. Ed told me that the process was held up because that supervisor just returned from vacation. Ed told me that he had just had a meeting with the supervisor
regarding my situation and I was approved for a refund and should receive it in 7-10 business days.

On 2/7/2013 I again contacted Ed Roberts and Wayne who informed me that the refund was still in processing with the accounting department and that I should be receiving it shortly.

On 2/11/13, and 2/12/13 I attempted to contact Wayne and Ed Roberts but was continuously disconnected and never received calls back.

On 2/13/13 I was able to get in contact with Ed Roberts who was very rude and gave me the same story that the refund was still in processing with the accounting department and that I should be receiving it shortly. He also told me that me calling everyday will not speed up the process and hung up on me. I am sorry that I have spent a lot of money with the company only be be told that I can not book as by the Travel Center even though his agent Michelle told me that I can book as many people for a group as I want. I am also not getting any response except that my refund is still processing in the  accounting department and it takes 7-10 days which is what I was told back on 1/17/13 which is now over a month ago.

I have since tried to contact Ed and Wayne by both phone and email and have not received calls back. Customer service agents can never help me with the situation and always tell me that they are in a meeting, not available or have gone for the day. Now when I call the company they tell me the name of the Company is Romex or RW travel located in Atlanta, Georgia, which is odd because that is not the name they gave me when I booked the trip.  All I want is my money back. I have already gone to my bank to file a report and will do so with the Attorney Generals office as well. Stay away from this company.

You know the most frustrating thing about web sites like this.... people can go onto them, put anything they want and not have to say who they are. How can we help??? OK. You want to give us your name, we will try and track down your refund. You don't want to, there is very little we can do.

I just wanted to provide an update regarding this situation. I went to my bank on 2/14/13 to file an affidavit since I never received a refund from this company. It wasn't until I took action with my bank that they issued a refund. The funny part is that the refund was only for $900 not $1500 which is what I spent. I was told that I was getting a full refund since I could not book as a group but the letter that was sent to me with the $900 money order stated that they were charging me $70 per person cancellation fee. Keep in mind that I never canceled the trip and was told I could be refunded due to not being able to book as a group through the travel center. Also, the letter was from Romex Travel's accounting department which was not even the company that I purchased the trip from. I purchased through Travel Consultants International, not Romex. It is very shady. Now I have someone from the accounting department at Romex calling me because my bank contacted them for the refund amounts.
