My wife and I joined travelbridge about 2 years ago. We joined because we where promised great savings on travel.

in 2 years travelbridge could not come close to fares we found in the local newspaper.

We were told that being travel agents would give us great discounts on many other travel related facilities ie. car rentals, upgrades on cruisesand airplanes etc.

We ppaid $2200 but have only received a free trip to Las Vegas and this only after writing to the President of Travelbridge and 2 personnel visits to the office in Palm Springs.

We did receive an additional free year as agents because of all the problems.

Sofar we have not received any benefits from this organisation.

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Sat, July 13, 2002

Recently I overheard that one of the many ex-employees, like myself, was paid final wages. I did not believe it at first, then I was told from the ex-employee himself, that it was true. Simple solution. He threatened to reveal the truth on channel "9". Almost immediately he was handed a check and it was good. It appears they are running scared. They are paying money to members for the refund of cancelled memberships. Sadly, it is only about $76.00 per membership. In many cases people have paid upwards of $5600.00 for their membership. Just slightly more than 1% as a refund. What a shame. I was hoping that some local Attorney would have taken an interest in closing their doors. It has not happened yet. Travelbridge of Texas closed their doors as a result of members and ex-employees picketing the office for a 6 month period. Someone was there everyday with a sign. Finally the news media, the radio stations and the Attorney General got involved. Truly that is what it is going to take to close the Scottsdale office. Remember, I saw it happening from the inside. I realize I am not going to get my money back, if they close their doors, but just knowing that some elderly person will not be used or taken advantage of is a compensation I will be happy to except. If everyone makes one call to Channel "3" or "9" or the local radio station, they will not go unheard. I promise.

#3UPDATE Employee

Wed, June 19, 2002

I was employed by Travelbridge for over 4 years. After the years of loyal service, I was laid off and never paid my final check for hours I worked or vacation and sick time earned. I was assured that my insurance would remain for one month after my lay off. A lie, three days after I was gone my insurance was terminated. I was never advised until I tried to refill a perscription and was denied. To date I have received nothing, nor anyone else that was also terminated at the time I was. Please realize that if I am treated this way, members don't have a chance in hell for an honest deal. This is not about revenge, it is about letting others know how not to expend any further energy, time or finances with a company that cares nothing about its members or employees. They are really on the way out, and they are just hanging on and collecting as much money as they can before they close the doors for good. It is truly a shame, and at one time the company was run by good and caring people. Sorry they are all gone now........
