Tropic Shield Advanced Paint Guard SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD Irvine, California
The company now goes by the name Advanced Appearance Protection but used to go by the name Tropic Shield. Due to the CEO's Scam and Dishonesty. He was forced to change the name of the company. Advanced Appearance Protection is found all over Craigslist. He will promote and offer you a job detailing auto's, trucks, and boats for $15-$19 hr. It all sounds good till you get to his small little office in Irvine and he attempts to sell you a $3000 Business package so you can make all your own profits instead of going to work detailing cars for one his supposed 1000 plus authorized dealers who have so much work they have asked him to hire employee's
for them. This is a total scam. He calls himself Lance however his real name is Larry. He had to change his name because of bad scams and business deals in the past. Don't fall for it and dont even bother going in for an interview. I fell for it and paid the $3000 dollars and have regreted it ever since. Lance will look over your resume and tell you how worthless you are and when you try and defend yourself he tells you that if you were doing something with your life why would you be in his office trying to get a job detailing cars. That is how he gets you to think about buying into his franchise and making something of yourself and your future. The product he allows you to buy for use with the Franchise you purchased is good, however when I have had people call and request an auto detailer in my area he attempts to take the business for himself rather then passing it along to the appropriate Authorized Dealers for that territory. If there was anyway to take him to court and get my money back I would but I am begining to think he is a waste of time and not even worth the effort. Remeber the name Tropic Shield, Advanced Paint Guard, Advanced Appearance Protection all scams and fraud. If you happen to come across a detailer using the Tropic Shield Product you will be pleased with the outcome of the work. Great product. Horrible Business and Horrible business owner. Lance / Larry needs Jesus. Karma will come back on dirty and dishonest business people and I pray it comes back 10 fold. Don't fall for it the market is oversaturated with Mobile Detailing Services anyways.

Please look past the main blog that I had posted here. I was in the wrong and I have come to realize that after speaking again with Larry from Tropic Shield / Advanced Paint Guard. I was completely misinformed about the direction, the details and the changes that were going on. Had I not jumped the gun out of frustration I would not have written what I did about him or the company. All of the answers would have been made clear to me. I have apologized to Larry for the hurtful words I wrote in my post and I no longer have any animosity towards him or the company. I am embarrassed that I let my emotions get the best of me in this situation and I should not have written what I did. It wasnt fair and it wasnt right. I should have allowed Larry to explain himself and the company and fix the situation rather than lash out with angry and bitter words.
Larry was very helpful and was able to take care of ALL THE ISSUES that I had so if you are thinking about moving forward with Larry and Advanced Paint Guard I highly recommend you do so. The product is fantastic and I dont think you could find a better line of products anywhere. As long as you make Larry aware of any concerns and needs you may have he will do everything he can to meet those expectations. So please again look past my embarrassing post and give Larry and Advanced Paint Guard a shot you wont regret it. Tropic Shield - Company Name Change

After speaking with another local Southern Cali Authorized Detailer. He made me aware that Lance / Larry at Tropic Shield / Advanced Appearance Protection - has changed the named of his company to better the business. I am glad that he spoke with him because I was completely turned off by the company. He made me aware that I could call Lance / Larry in a week or so and talk to him about getting all the new marketing materials for advertising. He also made me aware that Lance / Larry is all for making up my own company name and just using the Tropic Shield Product. Seeing as how the product is good yet the company doesn't exist anymore this might be a good idea. I thank this particular Rep for making the call that he did and smoothing things over. I still wish Lance / Larry had handeled this himself but what is done is done and now it is all up to me to make my business flourish.
