I signed up for a monthly subscription for Envato Tuts+ Premium for wp.tutsplus.com

I found their paid content to be lacking in quality.  Specficially the video courses and eBooks they offer.  I am an experienced WordPress Guru and found all of their training materials that I had either watched or read, to be out dated, amatureish, or incomplete.  I only used the website for a week or two, then went on vacation.  When I came back and cacelled my subscription they are refusing to give me a refund.

I understand even though they have a 30 day refund policy.  That is not the point here.  The point is that they are selling information that just doesn't really cut it.  They have a lot of courses available that are just blatently out of date.  Regardless of the fact that they may be somewhat dated, they should at least make a note of that so you don't waste your time going through the entire course only to find out that what you just learned is useless.

I honestly thought they would have better material since they keep their blog updated regularly with great information.  Its my fault that I did not ask for the refund within the 30 day time period, but I feel that others should be informed about their low quality content inside the members area.

Don't get me wrong, there are several courses in there that are probably ok, but the ones I picked were not.  They need a system put in place besides the date of the course, to let people know its not up to date.  If they don't want to keep their courses or eBooks up to date, they should remove them or not charge for them in my opinon.

I'm not out to screw tutsplus.com in any way shape or form, but the main reason I am filing this complaint really doesn't have much to do with the content as much as it has to do with not being able to unsubscribe from their email list.

As part of the paid subscirption which I have cancelled, they would preiodically send emails to notify subscribers of new materials (which I did find some to be useful, but not all of them).  Once I cancelled my premium account through paypal, I have tried unsusbcribing from their email list by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of their emails, which apparanetly is through a company called MailChimp which I am very familiar with.

On July 30th, I sent a request to the Tuts Plus support team regarding the problem with being spammed by them, and I have recieved no response at all (although I did recieve a response about my request for a refund which was rejected - and again this is not the reason for this report).

My main complaint is the fact that they absolutely refus to remove me from their email list.  Today, around 8pm central time, I unsubscribed again.  Then around 10:30pm central time, I got an email saying "Your In.  Your subscription to the Tuts+ Premium Newsletter has been confirmed"

I DID NOT confirm any subscriptions to anything with Tuts+ and I am very unhappy about their unwillingness to comply with my request to stop emailing me.  This is very unprofessional and very irritating.

Just thought people would like to know that if they sign up for a newsletter for Tuts Plus that they will find it impossible to unsubscrbe and Tuts Plus should be fined for this activity as it is a clear violation of the CAN-SPAM act and I will be seeking damages if this nonsense continues.
