Two Mundos Magazine, Enerdesigns Media Group-Jeanette Dove, Marcello Rocabado, Liza Escobar Is A Publication That Will Scam You Out Of Your Money In Miami, FL, Arlington, VA Or Washington, DC. Two Mundos Magazine, Enerdesigns Media Group, Marcello Rocabado, Liza Escobar and Jeanette Dove Personally Defrauded me out of $1000 Miami, Florida Arlington, VA And Miami, FL Virginia
On May 20, 2008 I was approached by Jeanette Dove President//CFO of Enerdesigns Media Group and Publisher//Editor-in-Chief of Two Mundos Magazine to advertise in their magazine. She presented an offer that was hard to refuse.
$1,000 for so called Silver Package which includes: 2-page editorial/ad combo spread in Beauty Section and Web banner on www.twomundos.com. When I asked her how long Two Mundos magazine have been in publication and how often does they come out, she told me it is over 4 years old magazine and it comes out 4 times a year (which states so on their website http://twomundos.com/site/ . She told me the next issue is 007, 2008 which is coming out in August of 2008.
I am on their website right now and the only issues they had is Fashion Issue 003, with release date of 03/11/2005, Music Issue 004, with release date 11/15/2005, Power Issue 005, with release date of 03/18/2006 and Transportation Issue 006 with release date unknown which they are trying to sell very hard on the website (buy 4 copies, get a free gift). 4 Times a year?
Between first issue and second one is 8 month, second and third is 4 month, third and current issue is 2 year and 8 month. WOW!!!! No money to print or not enough fools like me? She told me that next issue is 007, 2008 which is coming out in August of 2008. As of the date of this report it is already 5 month late.
Jeanette told me that they will do all the designs and I will be contacted by a writer in a few weeks for an interview. I said fine and in two days Jeanette came back with printed contract and we signed the deal. She demanded the payment in full on signing which kind of surprised me at this time because in years of doing business I never paid in full and especially before proofing the ad, but she was very convincing and conniving by telling me that at this special rate the ad has to be prepaid. I said Ok and gave her a check # 1031 for a $ 1,000 on May 22, 2008. We shook hands, she said she will be in touch and she run to the bank. My check was cashed on May 27, 2008.
I waited patiently for Jeanette to contact me. In a middle of June I started calling her, but with no results. Unfortunately I could not call her everyday and every time I did I would get her voice mail, leave a message and wait for her to call me back like an idiot. Finally in August I called her again and left her a message that I would like to cancel our liars contract due to Two Mundos magazine/ Enerdesigns Media Group non performance and if I don't hear from her I will go to the authorities. She called me back right away giving me an old excuse that she was out of country all this time and she send me an email with my proof but it came back to her (I guess if email comes back to you, you have to be a real genius to pick up a phone and call a client to see what's wrong).
Anyway I told her that we need to cancel the ad because we are already at the end of August, the interview is not done, I never seen the proof and it looks like the most important magazine in Miami and DC is not coming out any time soon.
She convinced me ( once again ) to give her a little bit of time explaining me that they were backed up and the magazine is coming out the end of September and her writer is about to contact me. She emailed me something I still can't figure out what it is, my ad or a joke. Anyone interested in seeing it copy the link http://enerdesigns.com/client/waxspa/ before they will remove it. It was my price list that they changed around. I never, ever asked Jeanette or anyone from her lying company to use my price list in the ad.
When I called her back and told her about it she said that this will not going to be in the ad, but it is the designer playing with colors. Right after this conversation they added something that looks more like an ad, but it is still terrible. She told me that they left Voted Best of Citysearch the year off not knowing if we won. We won Best of Citysearch 2008 one week after she cashed my check and not at the end of August. Below are a couple of emails between me and Jeanette.

I have to agree that when she send me the email in August I seen it that she was trying to email me before (probably saw me calling her and emailed me without luck and like I said before could not call me to see what is wrong with my email or did not care enough) Below is a copy of my August email to Jeanette:
Hello Jeanette,
I did not receive any emails from you after we spoke last night. I checked
my inbox and junk folder and there is nothing there from you or your
writer. I don't know what is going on but my email works fine. Also, when
are you planning to come out with the magazine? It has been three month
since we put this deal on paper (05/22/08) and as far as I remember you
told me that you coming out in July or August. Maybe we should cancel it?

On August 21 I received an email from Jeanette regarding her writer:
Hi Boris,
How are you? My writer, Liza Escobar would like to set up a time with you
on Saturday, August 23rd - between 11am and noon as she will be back in
Miami, working on the articles for Two Mundos. Liza would like to take the
angle focusing on first time waxers and how/what to expect when you
receive the complete, ultimate treatment. I think it will be very
beneficial to your article if we can arrange having Liza get some sort of
package or wax treatment so she can include in the write-up. Please let me
know if you are available on this date and if we can have Liza receive one
of your packages from your best waxer so she can describe it in the
article.

I called Jeanette regarding this email and she told me that it is a great idea that we will do a waxing package and a facial for Liza at no charge so she can experience the service and a feeling of getting waxed by a place that has been voted Best Hair Removal in Miami by City Search 2 years running.
I explained Jeanette that it is impossible to fit Lisa for a package and a facial on Saturday with the best waxer and facial specialist especially being always overbooked and offered to her that we can do either eyebrows, underarms or a bikini waxing. She said fine in a kind of disappointing voice and told me that Liza will come on Saturday between 11am and noon.
On Saturday at 11am I received a call from Liza who told me that she decided not to come in person because it is a far drive for her from her house for nothing and prefers to do an interview over the phone (I guess writers only come in person if you give them some expensive and/or time consuming freebies). We did an interview in about 20min, I emailed Liza some articles and information about us, explained her why we could not provide for her a waxing package and a facial on Saturday at no charge and we said good bye to each other.
Once again I waited a month or so for Jeanette's call about a magazine coming out, my proof or any good news with no luck, so I started calling Jeanette again. After an interview it became much worse to reach the Boss. One time I called her office and a gentleman answered the phone, I asked for Jeanette Dove and he said Of course one second please He came back on the line asking me who is calling and I said Boris from Miami. I heard him say on the other end This is Boris the Russian. He came back again and said that Jeanette is on the meeting right now. When I confronted him that I heard him telling Jeanette Boris the Russian he start going around the bush that it was not Jeanette, but her secretary.
No wonder in an interview with Washingtonpost.com on May 30, 2006 Marcello Rocabado who is CEO of Enerdesigns and Two Mundos magazine and boyfriend of Jeanette Dove said and I quote "We're like a little monopoly," Rocabado said. "We'd rather do business with a Latino. That's what I love about my community. Copy and paste the following link to see it for yourself. I was shocked when I read it.

What can I say at the end? Maybe if I was not Boris the Russian but a Latino I would get a different treatment from Jeanette Dove, Liza Escobar, the gentleman on the phone in Virginia and maybe, just maybe the big Boss himself, the We'd rather do business with a Latino Marcello Rocabado for my lousy $1000.00 US and not Latino Dollars.
P.S. Starting in December Jeanette's phone was going into voice mail saying that she is out of country until December 15, 2008 (spending honest people's money) somewhere nice and warm. Even after December 15, 2008 she had the same message (maybe Two Mundos is out of business?)

Hello again Jeanette. First of all my last name is not Kubrinsky but Kobrinsky as you can see in the contract that you signed on May 22, 2008. Second of all there are no false allegations against you, but just the facts. You expressly stated in a contract that Design Issue 007 is coming out in August 2008 and not in March 2009. Who gave you the idea that I wanted to advertise in 2009? Do you make these decisions for your customers yourself or someone helps you? Maybe you should of call me and ask if it's Ok with me and my advertising schedule/budget. Also, I never asked you for a $4,000 discount. When you came in I told you what I was willing to pay and maybe of your desperation you discounted my ad in your high-end magazine by $4,000. Third of all I never claim a negative article by Washington post but a remark by Mr. Marcelo Rocabado on May 30, 2006 giving to Washington Post and I quote again 'We're like a little monopoly,' Rocabado said. 'We'd rather do business with a Latino. That's what I love about my community." How would you explain this Jeanette? Who is racist now? My impulse Jeanette doesn't show my desperation to be number 1 in 2009, because we are number 1 for two years running and we will be in 2009 also with or without your help. My impulse shows that I don't like to be cheated by crooks who'd rather do business with a Latino. For Two Mundos to be number 1 you should start to deliver your precious issues on schedule at least and not between first issue and second one is 8 month, second and third is 4 month, third and current issue is 2 year and 8 month. As of the date of this report your Design Issue 007 is already 5 month late. According to your high-end website your magazine comes out 4 times a year and not when you feel like it. Also, what does this mean Mr. Kubrinsky received a discount of over $4,000 for this article to be in the design issue, of which the next issue is a design issue. Two Mundos Magazine is a high-end bilingual magazine that has received positive reviews 3x by The Washington Post, twice by CNN, The Miami Herald and other publications. In fact, the article Mr. Kubrinsky claims to be negative from The Washington Post on us was viewed by 1.7 million readers and voted # 1 for 9 weeks. Mr. Kubrinsky's comments from Wax Spa are racist and slanderous, of which have been reported to this site for promotion for racial comments against another business. In addition, Two Mundos Magazine is taking immediate action to cease Wax Spa's slanderous comments as threats have been made by Wax Spa against our employees. Two Mundos is a strong magazine with the next issue coming out in March, of which Wax Spa's article is being published. Mr. Kubrinsky received a discount of over $4,000 for this article to be in the design issue, of which the next issue is a design issue. Our clients are very pleased with our service, we continue to serve them, and they always see a positive response in their advertising. Mr. Kubrinsky's impluse only shows clear desperation for his business to be # 1 for 2009 and we will help him position this.
