Uber is an amazing company. They are able to get millions of drivers to bust their hump and drive theri own vehicles and spend their own money on gas, tolls and so on and then refuse to pay them for their work.
Read how many people are complaining about not getting paid for tolls, for fairs taken, for damage to cars and so on. All while Uber still takes its 25 or 28% off the top before you even turn off the app.
Few of my own stories.
#1. I have almost brand new 2014 toyota sienna that in my spare time I take uber riders. Uber has thins thing called surge and when there are not enough drivers in the area they surge that area with premium to get drivers to the area and pick up passangers. Well 2 AM the entire philly suburb is surging at 4x- 4.9x as i am looking at the area I get a PING (request for pickup) about 7 miles away in the area. I drive 7 miles pick up a couple and take them to their home about 6 miles away. Getting paid a whapping $15 that Uber took $5 right away. When to later find out that ride was not Surged. Appearntly surge can go from 4 to 0 in a second and one one even knows.
#2. pick up 2 hookers from a client home (in a family car never the less). They are yelloing and screeming in my car bossing me arround, oppening windows. have beer in my car that I tell them about 5 times to put away. make me stop at grocery stores, coffee shop. They eat in my car and drink coffee. Spend 2 hours driving them arround with liquer and drugs in my car (yes they even tried to light up some weed in my car). Finally drop them off after picking up 2 more of their "friends" on the way. Look in the back of my car and its a mess. coffee spilled all over the place, Open beer bottles and beer on the seats. Napkins from their boogers and spit all over the place. Just a horror.
Now I can not obevously get my car cleaned rightway and cant take fairs. I remeber that uber has clean up fee. So I file a calim.
Next morning I get up and take my car to car wash and get it detailed. all clean and only cost me $69. I figured hey the Uber fee is $200 so even with my lost income I still made some money.
NOT REALLY
Uber gives me $50. And say that all you get.
Anyway drivers DO NOT DO IT go with lyft. better riders and better company at least you have a person you can talk to
