To make a long story short, i will NEVER, EVER purchase a car through ugly duckling again! I didn't have good credit so i submitted an online application and was surprised when they approved it (I later found out that that they approve everyone).

After going to the dealership by myself (which i will never do again either) I spoke with the sales person and picked out a 96' Ford Contour. I asked what kind of condition the car was in etc.

Was told it was a great car, well taken care of. I ended up buying the car, trading in my honda that was on it's last leg. Within 2 weeks, the car was overheating to the point it couldn't be driven.

I found out later that it had a blown head gasket that they had somehow concealed so that it wouldn't be obvious right away.

After having numerous hoses etc. replaced costing in excess of 300.00 and 2 days off of work, it was running again, but only for another week before the clutch went out. After having to have my father go to the dealership and have words with a few people, did they agree to fix it, and eat half of the cost.

The car was in the shop for several weeks, in which i had to borrow a car from a family member. After getting the car back, it ran for a few days, when the altenator died in the middle of an intersection on a busy road.

After replacing the battery and the altenator, it still it ran for about 45 minutes, before leaving me stranded on the side of a major interstate. At this point, the repair bills were more than the car payment.

After having the car towed, i told Ugly Duckling to come pick the car up at a Ford Dealership that i had it towed to, because i wasn't paying another dime for that piece of junk. I now have an involuntary reposession on my credit report, with a balance of over 5k.

I did test drive this car. It drove well as far as i could tell, kinda reminds me of the episode of Andy Griffith where Barney buys the car from the nice little old lady, and it runs great for a few hours. How ignorant i was about the whole thing. I would like to say that the wonderful people at CarMax have helped find someone that would finance a car for me, a beautuful 98 Acura Integra (i did have to have a co-signer) which i haven't had a SINGLE SOLITARY PROBLEM with. Anyone who has been taken by these fools @ Ugly Duckling should consider going to Car Max to see if they are eligible for a loan. They use several different lenders and they might be able to find someone to finance you even if you have a repo. The interest rate is higher than a normal car loan...but when you can't get a car at all, a high interest rate is better than no loan/car at all!!
