I'm so glad I found this site.

I ordered the free bottle of Hoodia in December, and paid 8.97 for shipping. I was not told that I was entering into an agreement for an autoship program. A couple weeks later, I noticed a charge on my credit card for 46.90, from Tru Genix South Jordan UT, and then 4 days after that, I had another charge on my credit card from E Curves South Jordan UT, for 28.97.

I can only assume that both of these charges are coming from the same place, since they are both in South Jordan UT, and what are the chances that someone else in South Jordan UT, would just happen to come across my credit card number. So, after going to the web url listed on the free trial bottle(www.trugenixhoodia.com), I found that it only goes to some godaddy.com web hosting site.

I did some research on the internet then, and found a bunch of websites that are using this same address and phone number. I did find multiple phone numbers, and I even went to the extent of calling some of the numbers. Guess What, it took me to the same automated phone messaging system.

When I finally got through, the woman that I talked to said that they don't give any refunds. I said "even if I have not opened the package?" She said nope because it goes back to the warehouse, not back to them. I told her that I didn't know how it could be legal for them to do this, and she said oh it's legal. She was being a real snob. I told her that I was going to report her to my credit card company, and she said fine, have them call me. Then, when I asked her her name, she said "Have a nice day" (click). She hung up on me.

I was irate, so I called my credit card company, and reported the dispute. They are taking care of it. I'm only hoping there are no more problems with this.

I did want to provide some info that I found about this company though.

I emailed the email address provided on this site, and didn't get a response.

It's funny because the below url takes you to a page that is identical to the picture on the free bottle that I received.

http://www.esmartliving.com/s-112integra/lp/11202_lp.html

The address is: 795 E. 340 S. Building 2 American Fork, UT 84003 - And, on the terms and conditions, it states they do take refunds, and it explains how to get one. I'm not saying that this one is affiliated with Tru Genix or UltraLife PM Fulfillment or anything, but I'm not saying that I believe it's not either.

Ultralife Fitness, Inc - 857 W. South Jordan Pkwy.- South Jordan, Utah - 84095

The trugenix hoodia is also being sold here:

When you go here, it tells you Satisfaction Guaranteed! - Right!

I'm sure I could find more if I tried.

I'll be good, and not give his email address, but I have that too.

Sorry to vent so much on this, but this is unacceptable, and they should not get away with this. As a consumer, we should not have to worry about these sorts of things happening to us, and it hurts trust factors for other businesses too.

I got ALL my money back

#2Consumer Suggestion

Tue, April 24, 2007

I am not on a personal vendetta with this company, ok, maybe i am. I am all about American values and this company makes me almost ashamed of the turn that consumerism has taken in the past decade. I had the same thing happen to me. I posted on Jan 17th if you would like to go back and read it. I contacted the BBB in Utah & Wisconsin, and the Attorney General in Utah. To keep it short (because it was not a short nor easy process), but I got my money back. And i mean ALL my money, not just the $99.00 i was asking for. I got my other 2 payments back as well even though I admitted to not cancelling in time those times. I probably can't quote anyone, but lets just say that the state of Utah seems to be more than fed up with this company. So, I'm here to say that its not ok for companies to do this to you, and the government agencies in American will stand up for you, but you have to use them. They are not going to help you if they don't know about you. So make some noise and don't stop until you get your money back! The only way this company is going to go down is if we all fight for our consumer rights. if they don't change their business practices, they won't be able to afford to stay in business, eventually.

While they may have us due to the autoship being listed under terms and conditions, nowhere in there does it say there is a no refund policy. Even if they were running a totally legit business, which they are not, they should be shut down based on their(lack of)customer service alone. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in Utah and suggest you all do the same. I also had my credit card company challenge it and was told that if they get too many of these they could lose their ability to accept crdit cards. So even if you only delay them getting your money for a while, it could hurt these crooks in the long run by doing this. I was also told that they should not be allowed to have a no return policy on these items, as they are not a medicine and are listed as "durable goods" which should be returnable. I intend to pursue this til the end and hope you all do the same. Good luck to you all.

It's time to take this company DOWN NOW! Report this fraud to Utah's and your States Attorney General Office, also the Better Bussiness Bureau. Looking thru all the complaints against this Company and any other(AKA)names there are enough people that have been mislead and defrauded to file a class action suite. So Who's the Attorney that wants to help!!! It would make a good sound bite for a infomercial....Next best thing to Hoodia???? And who is going to call CBS 60 Minutes???? Do you realy think they know their name is use on one of many web sites. I think they could do a behind the scenes investigation. They nation needs to know!!

How to cancel

#5Consumer Suggestion

Wed, June 21, 2006

I had a lot of trouble getting my orders canceled and still haven't gotten any money back. I tried to cancel off the website that charged my card for Trugenix Hoodia(which I never received). That website is MarqiLife.com, an offshoot of Ultralife. I followed their terms and conditions and called the phone number listed in their terms numerous times only to talk to a machine and never get a response. After being charged again by PureHealth(where ever that is), I tried the numbers for Ultralife that I found here. My info was with Ultralife and MarqiLife says they have no record of me when they do email back, which is very infrequent. Ultralife agreed to cancel anything further, but would not refund for the 2 previous orders, 1 of which i never got. So my advice is, if you ordered or charged by a different company than Ultralife don't bother calling them as they obviously don't even try to handle the problem. Call Ultralife directly if you have any problem canceling your account no matter where you got the Trugenix. It would have been nice if these websites and the guys who bill you would have let us know that, but it's just another part of the scam. Now let's hope they actually canceled my account and I get my money back.

Terms and Conditions

#6Consumer Suggestion

I too ordered the free trial, knowing how some 'free' offers worked (that there is always an unclear catch) when I received it I noticed something about an autoship, so I went back to the website, checked the terms and conditions to find out how to cancel, which I did. Time will tell if they truly did or not. But, what I failed to see was the additional 'fitness' program membership. I just today saw a charge for it and had my first run-in on the phone. She told me that I had to cancel online, gave me the login info over the phone, etc.(if I knew about this why would she need to give me 1.the website & 2. the login information!) I went to the site and I can't even login, hmmm. Started looking a little closer in regards to the T&C and even checked my email for anything in regards to accessing this so called membership - nada zip. In the T&C there is a bunch of 'if you do a charge back we're going to send you to collections...yada yada.' And in regards to Lucy's comment about: "#3 the fitness program (e curves) you were told about it in the terms and conditions, an email about how to cancel online, and a welcome letter and DVD." I had realized before I even arrived here that I have NEVER received any of this so really by their own T&C they have broken the so called contract. I will be pursuing this with my Credit Card Company, and my attorney if need be. Good luck to all, and GO FOR IT. They don't have a leg to stand on! Laura

I was ripped off also

#7Consumer Suggestion

Fri, March 03, 2006

I too was ripped off by this crap company, see my ripoff report by Kristen of Columbus OH. I wish you the best with getting your money back, i am also in this same process. I was charged twice within a few days totaling almost $100 - and i did not authorize any of the charges. I also was hung up on by these fradulent people and i did not yell or curse either. I am also working with an attorney and i hope we can get these people out of business. It is not fair for us consumers to lose our hard earned money. I am a college student but also work at a marketing firm so i know they are lying about many of the things the rebuttals said. There are strict laws and procedures for following in order for selling and billing. There is no way they can even keep hanging up on people if they are a ''real'' company. Calls are monitored where i work and i know at most reputable call centers they are monitored too. If this company was truly practicing ethical policies, theyd have no one working there because of all the rudeness and hanging up. So please if anyone knows how to resolve this write back to me on my report Kristen in Columbus OH as for this report i hope everything works out for you, and for all of us who were so unfairly treated by the CRAP company of trugenix. Good luck and let us all know how it goes. Best wishes-Kristen

I ordered the trial,,then cancelled, but I was subjected to two withdraws from my cking acct..by trugenix and ultra...did not recieve the product..I would have been ok with the one autoship if the the other company had not taken money too...I did not ever think they would take money that was not rightfully there's..by two companies and in fact are all one in the same..I do hope that this company and all affiliates are banned from the web for stealing monies not authorized...perhaps too many indians and not enough chiefs to keep track of all the people cancelling or delaying the cancel to get the money first..who knows ,,is all I know its wrong and ruins online shopping for many people like myself who now mistrusts any transactions on the internet..no matter what they say,,double billing is wrong for no product being recieved nor authorized transactions..do not even know the other company at all..never visited the web site so how did they get my information?? Trugenix thats who...

I, too, have fallen victim to Ultra Life. I have called and canceled numerous times, have sent certified letters, everything, with no satisfactory response. When you call them, they hang up! I am actually in contact with my attorney on this very matter, he is currently working on it. My attorney called, identified himself and he also got hung up on. Only proves my standpoint more! Let's just say I hope this company is not too surprised when they receive a subpeona in the near future. *** In response to this so-called ex-employee saying that they can ruin your credit-it is a flat out lie! They actually can loose their license from the credit card company for trying any such practices and be subject to fines and penalties. I am not sitting back and letting them do what they want just because they think they can get away with it! All you have to do is go to the BBB website and look them up. Most all their complaints are unresolved and some are quite interesting! Don't let them get away with it, there is laws out there that protects consumers from this very thing! Only time will tell, but as far as I can see, the end is near and they will be paying for their unethical and questionable practices.

Yes Lucy, I check my bulk folder. I didn't receive anything. If they did send them, then have your "friend" email them to me again. I would like to see these terms. And, IF the "post office" did mess up my order, since when is that my fault? Thank you Chris, for your input. I really appreciate it.

Lucy - you are an obvious liar

#11Consumer Suggestion

You know somebody who works there and had them look up her order? What a transparent lie!! This just makes YOUR company look worse. If you want to post a response then be honest about who you are. You work for or own a scam company that does everything it can to rip people off by making it impossible to opt out of your "auto ship" system. Another of your lies is in regards to the credit card chargebacks. You will have no recourse against the consumer. Credit card companies protect consumers from FRAUDULOUS CHARGES! If you want to collect your money you will need to deal with Mastercard, Visa, Discover, ect. Mabey you should read the terms of the agreement you made to be able to collect payments via credit card, it outlines this quite clearly. Give the nice lady her money back you loser!

I know someone who still works there, had them check shipping, you last name has two L's right? (only kaci in Wi) and looks like your order was shipped on 12/9, the day after you ordered, if it took that long to recieve maybe you should talk to your post office? the next was on 12/23 (15 days from the order date.) Oh, and if you ordered by phone, the emailed the terms and cond, plus two more emails, do you check your bulk folder?

This was from a call, and I wasn't told about this.

#13Consumer Comment

Thu, January 12, 2006

#1 - This order was from a call, so I did not have any terms in front of me. IF...IF this telemarketer did read the terms, then he didn't read them clearly because I did not catch that I was signing up for an auto-ship program, and I had never even heard of E-Curves, before seeing it on my credit card bill. So, with that, I truly believe that I was notified of these charges. And, if it is something that is indicated in this call, then it should be clearly pointed out. #2 - As for the fact that they don't take product back if you don't cancel before the billing date. This must be why they wait to send you the product until after the billing date. I received the trial after the so called trial period had ended. So, I was never given a chance to cancel. I even told the person that I talked to on the phone that I received it in the mail, and had not even opened the package. As for it being a safety reason, that's crap too because if I wanted to tamper with the product, I could do it before the billing date, and still send it back for a refund. This is probably a good reason why I received the bottle after the billing date. #3 - The fitness program (e-curves). Like I said, I had never heard of this until I was charged for it. And, furthermore, I did receive this in the mail, 2 days ago. When I originally wrote this message, I had not received anything. Anyway, I did receive the DVD and letter, 2 days ago, and my card was charged on 12/28. Shock Shock, that was 2 weeks ago. Am I supposed to cancel some autoship program with this too? This just seems like an annoying fly that just won't go away. What else should I expect to be charged for? #4 - I understand how marketing families work, so I don't feel a need to comment on this one. #5 - As for this going against my credit. How can they even do that? That is a big question in my book, so when I get more info on that I'll write back. #6 - I was not yelling, cursing or stopping her from explaining this to me. She didn't try to explain it. All she said was that they don't give refunds and even after I eplained to her that I had not opened the package, she said nope because it goes back to the warehouse, not back to them. I told her that I didn't know how it could be legal for them to do this, and she said "oh it's legal". Then when I asked her her name, for reference, she said "Have a nice day" and hung up on me. If this company truly monitors their calls, they would see what I'm talking about. Also, what's up with them putting a url on the bottle, that doesn't even go anywhere. The trial bottle that I received has the url www.ultralifehoodia.com on it, but when you go there, you go to a page not found. Did they advertise that site, when you worked there? That just seems awfully odd. It seems to me like they are trying to hide something. I know this isn't your problem, and I appreciate your input, but I hope you can understand my frustration. Thanks

its all in the terms and conditions!!!

#14UPDATE EX-employee responds

Thu, January 12, 2006

#1 you did know about the autoship, if you ordered online, it was in the terms and conditons, or if someone called you, they read from scripts, and they HAVE to tell you about autoship, and the calls are monitored anyone caught doing this would be fired immediatly. #2 they do not take product back unless you cancel before the billing date, which obviously you didnt do, its in the terms and conditions once again. it is for safety reasons... we have recieved bottles that have been tampered with, if its unopened? guess what some sicko can still stick a needle through and tamper with it. #3 the fitness program (e curves) you were told about it in the terms and conditions, an email about how to cancel online, and a welcome letter and DVD. #4 yes they have different products marketed on the web with differnet phone numbers, the same place yes, but only to keep track of which sites do better for marketing!! #5 please be careful with chargebacks, they get sent to collections, and the fees raise from $300 + and will ruin your credit. #6 the only reason someone would hang up is if you were yelling, curising, or not letting them explain anything to you, in which case getting no where and wasting time. I suggest next time you order something you READ the terms, because it acts as binding contract, to see the terms for this company go to www.trugenix.com, at the bottom left side it says "hoodia" then, "details" click details, right below the order form, is the terms and conditions.
