Irene, you should go back to the gas station and check the pump to see if there is a label from the CA Department of Weights & Measures; they are responsible for auditing the pumps at stations throughout California. If they do, check the last date of measure. If it's recent, you may have no case, as well as a tank that holds more than 13.2 gallons of gas. If it's been a while, I would contact the Department and inform them of what your experience was. It will at least get the out to do the measure (which BTW - reuqires the gas station to close and no customers can buy gas while they're there performing the measure). Best of luck to you.
