United Express Van Lines ripoff, dishonest, do not keep deadlines Sunrise Florida
I hired United Express Van Lines as there price was lower and they were based in Florida, the state I was moving too.
I gave a complete list of all the furniture I had moving from Virginia to Florida and estimated an additional 75 boxes, Small, Medium and Large. I also wanted to have a third of my furniture stored and then later moved to Maine when our summer home would be finished.
They gave me two prices for the move and a monthly storage fee for the items going to Maine later. The fee for Florida was $2100 plus cost of materials and based on a 726 cu. ft. When they finally finished loading up the items they told me that I had 2500 cu. ft. and it would cost me an addition $7582 plus materials which made the total cost $11,564 which made me very mad.
In addition to this we were scheduled for packing up Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 18 & 19. They call Saturday night and said that they must start Sunday because of a scheduling problem. This made thing very difficult on us.
When I called the company to find out how long it would take them to get to Florida the told me from 5 to 7 days. After 7 days and no calls I started calling. I was told they would check on the date and get back to me, but they did not. After server calls they finally called as said they could deliver on Thanksgiving day, which was totally unexceptable to me as we had plans for that day. Finally after I got them to deliver on the next day Friday.
I was told that they would arrive early on Friday about 7 AM, so we got up early and waited for them to come. They did not arrive until 10 AM and did not call to say they were going to be late.
Then when they got here they said I must have a certified check before they could leave off the furniture, which no one had ever told me I need this before. So I had to run to the bank and get a check made.
After unloading I found several things broken and wanted to file a insurance report for the item. The drive did not even have the forms in his truck and said he would have to get the office send them to me.
I have now left call for them to contact me and have not heard from them yet.
I will make it an effort to let anyone I talk, to never use this company.
