I have had United Healthcare supplamental insurance for my father for over 11 years and never had a problem. Last month my father went to the hospital for a week and rehab for three. I just received a notice that my insuance will be canciled for none payment of premiums. I called and they asked me for $500 and I told them I was up to date on the payments. While on hold I called my bank and confirmed that the check was cashed before the due date. When they came back on the phone they said I had not paid and I told them about the check. I asked for a manager and they put me back on hold. 10 minutes later the same person came back and said everything was OK.

What a scam. Whatch out for small print and unasuming letters from this company. They were trying to stick me with the whole hospital bill after being with them for years. I have heard of this kind of thing before but did not know how common it is.
