Alright, Fall of 2006 i was 19 years old, and every morning this 1800 number would call for me trying to get me to subscribe to some s**t. So to get them stop i was just like yeah yeah yeah alright ok... I have to go to work i need to get off the phone, and they kept going congratulating me. I won a watch but no other than a diamond watch ooooww and a chance to win a million dollars.

Wow, just by agreeing with them i get a diamond watch and a chance to win big money. Now doesnt that sound awesome for a 19 year old. SO i agreed to everything.. thinking in my head yeah i will just cancel it.

Then they wanted my account number which i did not want to give them. But the guy was soo nice and made me feel so secure. ( good job a*****e) So i got some magazines in the mail and a list saying that i can pick everyone i want..

Oh yeah at first they wanted 50 a month and i told them i will not pay that much for magazines so they dropped it down to 29.95 a month.

So thought nothing bad of it, till i told my mother and she flipped and i tried to cancel it and they said i cant, im on recording and i agreed to it.

Then good ol' mom called and they told her to contact a lawyer and they will see me in court.

So i stopped paying, now 5 times a day someone calls for me, using first name only... And they have my last name wrong, which they never say anyway. And they try to give me a settlement now.. of 199 which 2 months ago a lady said she will give me a settlement of 150... Oh i owe them $359..

Which is wrong, If i agreed to pay 29.95 for 2 years that would be a total of $718.80 right. Now they said i paid 7 of 20 payments... Which its suppose to be a total of 24 payments and they say my balance is 359 which, if they knew what they where talking about i owe them $509.15. Ok you get my drift.

They dont know what you they are talking about they just want money.

And guess what they arent getting a dime from me anymore!

SOmething needs to be done

WE'RE NOT A SCAM!! You should've been listening-

First of all the sales people DO NOT call on an 800 #; only unknown (reason being is because card information can be discussed on the phone-it's outbound & for YOU'RE security) but when you actually decided to answer, someone told you that you had been ENTERED into a sweepstakes to win 1,000,000$ in cash and that you'd been entered because of your PREFERRED customer status with either Visa, MC, Amex, or Discover & asked if you still carried one. (Mind you, if you had been OVERWHELMINGLY busy at this point you could've just hung up & that would be that; You could also, however, request to be put on the Do not call List & we'd comply.) Then, yes- we told you that you'd receive a diamond quartz watch for participating as a customer. After that, however, you'd receive 2 magazines at no cost & 2 you'd help out with: It's 40% off the news stand's price, 3.83 a week for 48 months, then asking to put a good word in if someone was to check up on them. After going over it a second time, explaining that we GUARANTEE the service for the full 48 months and you can switch the magazines anytime, they ask for permission to place your order. You could have said no- explained that you don't read (probably can't read) magazines...maybe asked them to slow down a little too if you had a problem hearing them..? So! You get your order # and get a call from the billing department. The 1st thing they ask is if the previous person was nice & polite, etc. Then they immediatley explain that your receiving 4 magazines; 2 at no cost, 2 you pay for 3.83 for 48 months but you can switch them anytime, and ask "Was that the way you understood it?" They explain how it's 16.60 a month & we consolidate the billing 3 months at a time ( 16.60 x 3 = 49.81 ) When they get the card info they get a PREAUTHORIZATION which is a PENDING charge, and because it's 'pending' it shows as a withdrawal but be assured it's just in suspense(your bank will even tell you that). It doesn't actually come off until the date you set up with the 3rd and final person. Keep in mind, we deal with card info on all the calls, therefore all 3 calls will be unknown/unavailable. We speak with so many people a day, literally talking with thousands in 1 day. I apologize for any inconvenience you may suffer but you did put yourself in this situation; you admit to not paying attention & not really listening, yet you felt ripped off. We tried to be as thorough as possible and even gave you our real name's & location. If we were a scam- WHY WOULD WE DO THAT? ASK QUESTIONS! SPEAK UP! DON'T BE A PUSS OVER THE PHONE THE OTHER PERSON CANT BITE YOU~ ASK "What's the total price?" or, "Can I cancel?" Don't just ASSUME you can cancel, and in this you even say "I was thinking- I'll just cancel it later." It's like why would you waste everyone's time??? We're just honest people trying to make an honest living. I only want to sell to people who want magazines :) ANOTHER THING! The reason they ask you don't cancel is for inflation. Prices ever inflate on the newsstand yours does not because they buy them in advance to guarantee the rate wont change. We just ask that you switch them overtime as you read & enjoy them.
