Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

In Oct. my company purchased a utility cargo van from Universal Auto oin Orlando.  We were issued a temporary tag.  When they called the office to say the tag was in, they never told us to bring cash to pay.  We "assumed" when buying a vehicle at an "out the door" price included tax, tag, title.  When I went to pick up tag they informed me I owed another $379 and change for all tag fees.  I did not have a check or a card with me and told them I would be back on Monday with a check and they said that was fine.  When I went back the following Monday, they told me a check was not acceptable, only cash or debit card.  They then said they would take a check and hold until it cleared and then mail the tag.  the check cleared two days later.  8 days later, I am stil waiting on tag.  Every time I call, the "title clerk" is not available and I am told to call back in an hour or two.  Nobody can tell me if the tag has been put in mail.  Here it is 8 days after check has cleared and no tag.  I have made two trips to the dealer and several calls to no avail.  Evidently, the manager and the lot owner cannot "access" the safe in which the tags are held?  Heck, the Mondya I went with check, they had no opower and the safe was electronic so I could not have gotten the tag then because they could not access the safe.  This situation stinks.

Well, after my third trip down from Lake County to this dealership, I finally got my tag.  After waiting for over an hour.  Ken Moose told me I would get the tag sometime that day.  I replied that is not satisfactory and I had made three trips from Lake County to get the tag.  He said it is what it is, the title clerk was not there and would be there sometime today.  I informed him I was going to call law enforcement and he chuckled and said "what good is that going to do.,"  then retorted, it is people like me that are the problems in this country today.  Well, come to find out, even if the title clerk there I could not have gotten my tag as it was locked in the safe and the only person with access to that safe was the owner.  A nice individual, who said he started working there a week ago took me aside and said he would contact the owner.  Owner said he would be at the dealership in 15 minutes.  fact was, he showed up 45 minutes later.  I eventually got my tag and told all parties there I would never purchase from them nor reccomend anyone to them, ever.  Lesson learned.

Well, I called again today after 2pm to speak to title clerk.  An individual asked me was I wanting to know if my tag was in and I sarcastically said no, I just called to socialize.  I guess they put the title clerk on the line and he said they were waiting for the check to clear before they mailed the tag out.  I informed him the check cleared 8 days ago and I would be back tomorrow to pick up the tag, with civil prescence by Orange Co. Sherrif Dept.  I will be talking to DMV and my attorney as well.
