Universal Gas & Electric Corporation The representative assured me that by signing with them my gas bills will never go up and actually my bills are higher now than ever. They totally lie to you to get you to sign their contract and once you do that you are screwed. Southfield Michigan
A representative from this company came to my home with information on how to keep my gas bill at a low cost. The representative told me that they would protect me against Consumers Energy raising my bills (rates). He showed me a chart on the increasing rates from Consumers. I was very skeptical but he assured me many times that my bill would not increase and that they were only protecting me from future increases. He seemed very friendly but turned out to be deceiving. The next month when I received my bill it was higher than ever before and every bill since than has been the same (very high). There were also extra charges on my bill from my local gas company which the representative told me there would be no charges at all for signing up with them.
I immediately called Universal Gas and Electric and explain to them that my bill was a lot higher. He did nothing for me and kept stating that I signed an abiding contract and if I wanted to terminate the contract it would be approxiamently $1700 for early termination. I asked to speak with upper management and he said that he was the only person who could help me ( or not help me). Therefore I am stuck with higher gas bills then what I started off with - significantly higher!
