US Boat Supply - USBoatSupply.com - Suffolk Marine Center Product sold to me caused engine failure and nearly killed my whole family, a sea rescue had to be initiated in remote Mozambique Internet
I imported a Bikini Engine cover from US Boat Supply for my new 150hp Yamaha 4-stroke, to protect against scratches from the fishing lures/hooks.
On my first day of a holiday in Northern Mozambique the engine failed (broke a connecting rod and smashed the engine) due to the engine cover supplied by US Boat supply not allowing the engine to breathe and hydro licked(apparently meaning that water was sucked into the engine and water is not compressible resulting in conrod failure.
With my whole family onboard and only a single broken motor we were left floating towards Madagascar, luckily some divers came to our rescue and managed to get us to the beach, not without incident, 4hrs later. The damage to my engine with less than 200hrs on the clock was in the region of $10 000.00, value of the trauma and annual leave smashed ??
US Boat Supply just refused to answer my mails/calls regarding this matter; they cannot sell products that are not tested as it is their trade they should know better to endanger the lives of innocent consumers for the sake of making a profit.
