This is outrageous! I am writing this complaint because USBAnk has charged eight (8)!, yes 8 overdraft fees to my account even though according to the records from my online account i had enough funds to cover these charges. This bank is doing this while in the news they are saying that they are reducing the number of overdraft fees, it is a LIE, US Bankis desperate for money that they are charging without any reason, please BEWARE, don do any kind of banking in this bank, you'll be sorry. They are emptying my account in order to charge more fees, this is legal robbery! This needs to stop! Their account are not free, because with their complex rules and confusing methods and inaccurate information in the online banking the are making easy to charge fees for any stupid reason. Stay away from this bank!

What did your check register say?

Online banking is not a substitute for a check register or ledger. It's simply not accurate enough to be used for that purpose. That's why people must keep check registers for an accurate record of their finances.

Did your check register show a negative balance?

- What did YOUR register say.  Let's just hope your response to this is "I don't keep one", because that would be your problem.  On-Line banking was never meant to be a way to replace the written register.  This is because it does not know what checks you have written or debit card transactions you have made until they receive it.  But your register does because you would write it in as soon as you make it.

This needs to stop!

- Okay then take responsibility for YOUR money.  This means to keep a REGISTER.  Write down every transaction you make in your register.  Understand your bank's fund's availability policy.  Then NEVER spend more than you have available at the time you write the check or use your debit card.

because with their complex rules and confusing methods and inaccurate information in the online banking the are making easy to charge fees for any stupid reason.

- If you feel that they are confusing then you should NOT use the account until you understand it.  That's right just as with taking responsibility on using a register, you need to take responsibility to understand how your account works.  If you refuse to take the time to understand it, then you can almost guarantee that this will continue to happen in the future.

Unfortunately, you will have people here who will tell you exactly what you want to hear.  That the bank was "evil" and you are 100% correct.   So you will probably listen to them and ignore everyone else.  This is unfortunate because it will just continue to have you believe that there will be some magical class action lawsuit or regulation that will make everything all right at some point in the future.  They won't tell you that even IF a suit goes anywhere it would be years down the road, and as with the very few that were "settled" the people got the nice sum of $78.  As for any Government regulation, you can regulate accounts from here to eternity but if the person using the account does not understand how it works, there is NOTHING that will keep these fees from happening.
