"I'll be honest though, i ran into some trouble, and my account was overdrawn."
Chad, these are your own words.
You signed a legal agreement when you opened up your account stating that you have read, understand, and agree to all terms of the account including USB's fee policy. Why are you so shocked you got an overdraft fee? You admitted you overdrew. Do you think you're special and don't deserve the fee while anyone else who overdraws does? Who do you think you are?
As for not checking your balance; I don't understand how someone could be that negligent. USB offers the following resources for checking your balance:
1. A 24-hour call center
2. Their website
3. Going into a branch
4. ATM's
5. Text alerts
6. Email alerts
All of these services are free and all of them, with the exception of the branches, are available 24 hours a day.
You have no one to blame but yourself for this situation.

I'll bet you do NOT keep a check register and you run amouck with your debit card. ALL banks are the same. SO US BAnk is not different than any of the others. The BEST way to get back at the bank is to NEVER overdraft. Almost 40% of most banks income comes from fees. I agree with the NSF fees, but I think they are gouging. And I do NOT agree with the $8 a day fee that some banks charge. That is pure greed. And the only reason they do it is becasue they can.
