USBI Rip-Off Put a false charge to a United Kingdom website on my phone bill for $45.43. Fayetteville, North Carolina Internet
USBI showed up on my local home phone bill. It was a charge to #44-207-335-0525, United Kingdom on August 6th for $45.43!
I called USBI customer service and spoke to a woman named Barbra. She would only give me vague answers as to what this charge was about and why it was on my bill. She tried to say that the number was to a website that someone accessed from my home computer.
I told her this was very amusing since I did not have long distance on this phone bill , I did not have dial-up connection to the internet and I was the only one using the computer!
She clammed up and immediately gave me a credit. But when I tried to find out more about USBI, I found out how many others have had the same problem with the same phone number!
Is this some kind of scam? Sounds like it to me.
