Van Ru Credit Corp contacted me about a student loan I owed and I arranged to make monthly payments although I was unemployed and only receiving unemployment benefits. They took the payments directly from my checking account. They told me after I had paid 12 consecutive payments I would be out of default and it would come off my credit report. After they had taken the 12th payment I contacted them and asked what the next step would be, they told me to wait for correspondence from Sally Mae as they were selling the loan to them.

I made another payment which brought the total to 13 consecutive payments. When I didn't hear from Sally Mae I contacte Van Ru again and they said since I missed a payment I was back in default and would have to start all over. I told them if I missed a payment it was because they didn't take a payment as they were taken directly from my checking account. I contacted the Dept of Education and they said their records show my payments were made in a timely manner but it appeared Van Ru had changed the date forcing me back into default! So, instead of them taking the payments I sent 2 money orders and Van Ru has yet to admit they got them, nor have they been credited to my account.

I guess the most frustrating part of all of this is there seems to be no one who can help me. Not Sally Mae, not the Dept of Education, not anyone. Van Ru calls me at work and tells me I'm a liar, that I never sent the money orders but I called the bank and gave them the money order numbers and they say they were cashed. So, now I guess I'll have to eat that $150.00. I'm not rich, $150.00 is a LOT of money to me. I held up my end of the bargain only to have them screw me in the end.

When I try and call them I get a different story every time. One person says yes they received the money orders, the next person calls me a dead beat trying to get out of paying my debts! I've cried myself to sleep many times over their incompetent, rude, highly unprofessional behavior. Can't someone help me? PLEASE!
