I have recently become a victim of Vanderbilt Mortgage. In Dec. 04 I transferred my home loan from Conseco to Vanderbilt. This was my first mistake. In June of 05 my home was damaged by a large hail storm. I sent Vanderbilt an insurance check for over $11,000 per their request. This was my second mistake.

I have had all the repairs made to my home since Nov. 05. I am now unable to get Vanderbilt to release my insurance money to pay my contractor. I have contacted Vanderbilt numerous times inquiring on the release of my insurance money. Vanderbilt continually states they need more information as to when the repairs were made, who the contractor is and they need copies of all reciepts. I have since paid my contractor out of my own pocket, sent them all the required material and they still will not release my insurance money. I have contacted a personal attorney and I am currently trying to sue Vanderbilt. I would like to tell everyone to stay away from Vanderbilt Mortgage as they are only interested in getting your money.

Has anyone else had this problem with Vanderbilt?

We have had our loan with Vanderbuilt for the past 3yrs. We have had nothing but trouble with them also. In the beginning we received a contract that stated the amount we would be financing. Then, the next thing we knew, we owed a pile more for "discount points" in turn this raised our loan by about $3-4K. So, we now owe much more than we purchased the house for in the first place. They are VERY rude to talk to on the phone. We have tried to sell this house, but we live in such a remote area in the middle of MT, nobody wants to live here. I wish a big storm would sweep this joint out of our posession.
