Donna - I too am having problems with Vanderbilt - I contacted the following to file my complaint: The Better Business Bureau 255 North Peters Road, Suite A Knoxville, TN 37923 865/692-1600 - fax 865/692-1590 Division of Consumer Affairs 500 James Robertson Parkway, Fifth Floor Nashville, TN 37243-0600 615/741-2236 - fax 615/532-4994 Department of Financial Institutions Consumer Complaints 511 Union Street, Suite 400 Nashville, Tennessee 37219 615/253-2023 - fax 615/253-7794 I faxed my complaint and within 30 minutes each one of the above responded via email, they were awesome - my situation is a little different than yours because my mother resides in California, but any one and/or all of the above can and will help you or direct you to someone who can. Also, take a lot at the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act - www.ftc.goc/os/statutes/fdcpa/fdcpact.htm it outlines the abusive, deceptive and unfair debt collection practices that are illegal. Good luck - don't let Vanderbilt Mortgage get away with taking unfair advantage through intimidation and threats.
