The Velezes own one dangerous Freightliner Columbia always in very serious need of repairs. They often have a craigslist ad for a driver, promising to split the profits "50/50", though they have never paid a driver anything at all. They try to lease their truck to legitimate trucking companies who insist they repair the truck at Freightliner or other legitimate mechanic, yet they insist on rigging itself themselves. They refuse anything in writing or a contract with any driver to split profits or anything like that, each time around, getting a new driver through their craigslist ads who drives long hauls in their rattletrap truck without air conditioning, brake pressure, or functional governor, nor fixing the rewire of the dash, ancient used retreads on all wheels, etc., etc., just to return their truck and not have abandonment on their DAC, carrying a high-paying load. They prefer to fix their truck themselves at their body shop to jimmy it the least possible without really fixing it, without spending money on the proper parts according to Freightliner, while way over-spending to insure their truck in case of an accident where they believe the insurance company will pay them more money, so they could make more money that way, than if they legitimately fixed their truck and made money off loads, hoping the driver they hire will have an accident and don't mind saying so.
