Verizon FIOS Youtube does not work with Verizon Fios and they do nothing to fix it New York New York
It is absurd that Verizon FIOS which is an expensive premium high speed internet service provider does not work with Youtube. This is the case with thousands of users mostly in the north east but also with many cases as far west as California who experience slower than dialup speeds on Youtube. 3g speeds on cell phones stream faster than 100mbps downstream service on Fios as far as Youtube is concerned. This is a well documented issue with hundreds of reports on Verizon's own support forums and other message boards and watch groups. Verizon's customer service initially deny the issue but once upgraded to a level 3 technician, they do aknowledge the problem but admit they have no escalation path for the issue to be resolved. Basically there is nothing they can/will do about it.
Meanwhile, most customers are locked into a 2 year contract which carries heavy penalties to cancel. If you are thinking about switching to Verizon, look forward to horrendous customer service and utter neglect for major issues such as these. Youtube is not just for funny cat videos but also sometimes required for work tutorials and other necessary resources. Even if it was for just funny cat videos, its among the top 3 or 4 visited websites on Earth. How can they not have fluid access or streaming?
