Verizon North Inc Verizon Charges Me for Service Not Recieved - Sent to Collections - harrassed - PAID collection -credit rating tarnished Valparaiso Indiana
I wish to dispute the claim of Verizon North, Inc which has been present on my credit report since August 1, 2005. Upon setting up service with Verizon North, a phone-service provider, I found that I was not receiving service in my apartment. The issue was communicated to Verizon North by myself. I ended the service but Verizon North still requested payment for the month they had recorded service. I fought the issue until I received a letter as well as numerous calls (at all times of the day AND night) from a collection agency. I immediately paid the fee to the collection agency at that point.
At the time I was in no way aware of the severity of the incident. Since that point Ive come to be more informed of the importance of a good credit rating. Ive taken the hit of higher interest rates and lower credit limits and have worked to improve my credit score.
I believe this incident was a clear sign of companies (both Verizon and the collection agency) abusing their power.
