I just received a collections notice from CBCS for 5 accounts that were opened by someone using my personal information charging over $900.00 on a cell phone with Verizon Wireless. When I called CBCS to inform them of the identity theft I was going through (and that this was a fraudulent account) I spoke with two rude and unhelpful phone rep's who said they would not disclose any information to me regarding the accounts unless I gave them my current address, work place information, and phone number where they could contact me.

One of the rep's who is a supposed to be a manager (Nancy Acevedo) told me if I was not going to give her my phone number she would not help me and when I asked to speak with another person in charge she told me NO! She said she would not waste her time transferring me around all over the place for no good reason. She said I was being uncooperative by not giving my phone number and that I could write all I wanted about her service, if I please. No law states I need to disclose my personal information to be harassed for immediate payment by any type of Collections Company.

This is a horrible situation to be in and this CBCS does not make it any better for people like me to receive appropriate attention or help. Someone needs to investigate the way CBCS handles collections with customers because their intimidation and unlawful practices are unjust.
