Last December I bought my children Alltel U Prepaid phones and activated their accounts with Alltel.  I never had a problem with Alltel.  I paid the account and occasionally went a day or two over the renewal term before I put more minutes on the phones.  Every time the remainder of the money was waiting for me to extend the prepaid term by a month, or two, or more dependent upon how much money I placed on the account.

Then Verizon comes in and takes over the Alltel prepaid phones.  They bragged about how much better it would be.  Better coverage, better terms...blah blah.

The first time I went a little over the time limit on renewing, Verizon zeroed my account(s) out.  In one electronic axe swipe I lost over $100 of prepaid time. 

All I could get out of Verizon is a sorry from a customer service agent who has little to no influence over the company and little to no power to do a darned thing about the situation.

To make it better, there prepaid customer service number has no option to speak to a live person.  I had to call a different area and then get the customer service agent to sneak me in the back door to a live prepaid customer service agent.
