just want to explain..... When customers come to sign up service they hear words like: FREE or INCLUDED nation wide long distance. This makes people think that they can call anywhere from anywhere. This is a huge misconception so I wanted to state the difference in an easy way. Roaming is where you physically are with your cell phone and placing a call or receiving a call. This means you are on another carriers(another cell phone providers) tower. The reason roaming is so expensive is because that company is charging your company to use there systems. Long distance is where you are calling to. So from the companies teritories you can call anywhere else in the 50 states with no charges it just uses airtime. So in short roaming is where you are calling from and long distance is where you are calling to. If people (including myself) knew this info before signing up for a rate plan there would not be so many complaints about companies not explaining the plans right...maybe we just did not understand. I know this is a major problem and misconception because I deal with this complaint everyday, multiple times a day. So yes some complaints are valid that the agents or sales rep did not explain the price plan correctly but a lot of the time we as customers did not read over the contract and price plan well enough before signing and getting that cute little cell phone for free.....so remember it is your responsibility to protect yourself and find out as much info about a product before signing your life away...

Another lesson learned the hard way. Buddy, you bought you phone from an agent. Blame the people at Sam's or even yourself for not knowing what plan you selected. Always purchase phones or new lines of service through a corporate store or ask more questions or get it in writing.
