After 12 letters to several goverment agencies, and the FCC, Verizon finaly bundle our services with direct TV, giving us what was promised, also they buried the lines and clean their mess in our yard, and credit our account yesterday June 4th, 2009. $372.84 this is the refund on the international long distance calls after their robery charges of $410.00 $4.95 a minutes for 72 minuts of calls. It pays to fight, we can't allow these corporations to take advange of the consumers. Judith
Dealing With Verizon Tipster

In dealing with the customer service, is fairly basic..I am on the other end so I know that when you called the representative was more worried about how long you are on the phone and what they could sell to you. By no fault of their own, the are pressured by the powers above them that they need to sell and the rest of the calls get shipped somewhere else. In regards to the long distance or international calls, the best thing to do is when you get thru to a representative (1-888-553-1555). When the rep answers the phone, let them know you want to see if Fios is available in your area. This will cause the representative to have to access your records. When they answer that it is not, ask for your balance on the account. This will insure that they were in your account. When this is done, inform the representative you do not wish to hear anything else that Verizon has to offer and that you wish to be transferd to toll billing. TBIC is what insiders call it. When you get to toll billing ask the representative if they can give you a total of international calls that have been made and coverd by Verizon. This again will insure that the representative has to access your account. When they give you the amount inform them you were informed that the calls were going to be 8cents per minute. You can find the actuall rate by going to Verizon.com and looking under longdistance, under international rates, the plan is going to be called International calling with city rates. 4.99-5.99per month. Inform them you would like the calls adjusted to the appropriate rate and to include the cost of the international calling plan. If they argue, which they are told to do, ask for the escallations department, if they ask for a call back, dont get off the line, wait. When you get to escallations, they may try to argue, the next in line is the presidential appeals. I have never delt with this group but these are reported to area directors, whom I believe is Vicky Boston. This is where it gets good, at this point you will probably never hear from her directly but, as in any large company you get to a level where they want you to just go away. Hopefully this will guide you and anyone else. The key is that when you call, you need to ask a question to cause the rep to access the acct, it is stamped with their code so it can be traced back to them. Also make sure if you are not interested in a sales pitch to clearly state that at the beginning of the call, the representatives, who for the most part are good people are under extreme pressure to sell you something, will really appreciate it. Good Luck
