I am also an employee of Victoria's Secret and agree that if that is what happened, then it was disgusting and against company policy. According to our old return policy, we couldn't refuse returns of this nature, regardless of worn state, stains, or lack of tags. Merchandise that was obviously worn or otherwise damaged was 'damaged out', reported, and thrown away. As of March 24, 2008, the return policy changed so that we do not accept anything worn, washed, or with the tags removed unless it is proven to be a defective product. Therefore, the only reason we would take back something that had been worn is if there was something wrong with it, in which case it would be damaged and thrown away, definitely not put back on the rack. Before the change, or after, putting worn merchandise back on the floor is NOT the way we do business or a common practice. Hopefully, nothing like this ever happens again, and I'm sorry for your experience.

I have been with Victoria's Secret for close to 3 years. I love the company, and our standard procedure for returns, no matter how long it's been is to refund the money to the customer. HOWEVER, if something has been worn, we do not sell it back. We tag it, Write out another tag explaining it's been worn, and put it in a drawer full of damages which then get thrown away. That's gross, But I don't know if that's what actually happened.

I think that's actually illegal! It must be a violation of some kind of health regulation. You can't even try on underwear or a bathing suit at a store without wearing underwear beneath it!

I would like to mention that what that sales person has done is extremely gross and disgusting. It should not have not been refunding nore should it have been put out for re-sale; that is just wrong. Thank you for informing everyone of such a horrid act. But I would like to state that I sure hope everyone washes whatever they purchase from any clothing store after you purchase it. You do not know whos hands or how many have touched those articles as well as any germs that may have found their way onto the clothing. This is true of any department store not just victoria's secret. From the person's who put them on the trucks to get shipped to the store, to the consumers in the store, many different people touch clothing articles everyday. Unless you trust every person in the world to wash their hands regularly you never know what you may find on any clothing put out to sale (returned or new). I know this cause I work at a department store, and I see how many times things get touched by different people, sick or healthy looking. Just remember this fact while you are shopping so you remember to wash everything after you buy it.
