On 12-4-14, I spoke to Vinesse. I received a shipment of 6 bottles from Vinesse and I had no record of it. There was no identifying paperwork nor any invoice. I then checked my records and made note that I had closed a Vinesse account in January. So, I called and I was told that I reactivated my membership on Nov 10, 2014.
I absolutely did not do so. I did receive a Spirit Airlines promotion for 6 bottles at a total price of $41.95 and I tried to apply on the internet. I never made the connection with any prior dealings. At that point, I did not get a message "thank you for your order" and I waited to see if I'd get an email confirmation. Nothing came so I assumed that the order never went through and I dropped the matter.
When I spoke to a person at Vinesse, I found out that my credit card had been charged for over $127.26 for 6 bottles of wine. I told her that if I had received a confirmation for that amount, I would have called immediately to find out the reason and ultimately, I would have cancelled the order. Furthermore, if I had received a communication stating that I could not take advantage of the promotion, I would have cancelled.
They told me I had to ship the wine back to receive credit which I did. i received the credit but they charged me $25 for shipping. It's the old bait and switch which I am now protesting on my credit card.
After speaking to many people at the company, i am convinced that they do these ripoffs on purpose.
