Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

It has been more than six months now since this nightmare began. My elderly father (84) is a real music buff and lives with my wife, 4 children and myself, he really loves his classical music. I'm more of a Rock 'n Roll lover but we both agree that we love old style turntables and vinyl records. We searched the net here in Australia and found what "appeared" to be a legitimate company in Victoria. We read a number of glowing reports about "Vinyl Revival" so decided to give them a call direct to discuss our music needs. We should have known from the start when one of the proprietors answered the phone and claimed to be "Graham Kennedy".

A quick search of the internet shows that Graham Kennedy was indeed a much loved Australian comedian - which is probably apt as Vinyl Revival turned out to be a complete and utter joke! After some discussion and haggling we agreed to purchase a turntable, amplifier, speakers and headphones, plus an assorted of albums by the Beatles, Led Zeppelin as well as a number of classics for my elderly father. In all the order tallied more than $4,500.00. We were told the order would be dispatched immediately and to expect arrival within 48 hours. That was their first lie! After multiple phone calls and threats of legal action the "order" arrived nearly 6 weeks later. What a mess!

The turntable we ordered didn't arrive. Instead Vinyl Revival decided to replace the high tech system we'd paid for with a far inferior one. The headphones were clearly demo models - they still had sweat and ear-wax embedded in them. All of the albums were second-hand and badly scratched. As you can image we were mortified. I immediately called Vinyl Revival and asked to speak to "Mr. Kennedy" again - surprise, surprise - he "wasn't available". I then got to speak to his "partner" a Mr. Victor Milazzi. Our conversation started off as amicably as it could - given the circumstances - however once I requested I send back all of the defective equipment for a refund Mr. Milazzo became very abusive and threatening over the phone.

I'm a disabled pensioner and was terrified by this threats. I immediately reported this to my local police here in South Australia but they informed me there was nothing they could do. Now, six months later we are still out of pocket with useless equipment and nowhere to turn. If you're reading this do not do business with Vinyl Revival - you will not get what is promised, all of their online reviews (I found out later) are fabrications created by the owners, their friends and family. It is all a scam designed to rip off unsuspecting customers - don't make the same mistake we did. Now my father cries himself to sleep of a night-time and I can't afford legal representation to pursue these scoundrels. The previous review of Vinyl Revival sounds very much like the experience we had. A little digging has shown that Vinyl Revival was so bad in customer service that they had to change their name after going out of business. I have never had to deal with a ruder, more arrogant group of people in my life. My elderly sister and I - we both have a huge selection of old vinyl albums visited the store knowing precisely what we were after having reviewed the website: www.stereophonic.com.au - we initially dealt with a Steve(?) who appeared to be completely incompetent and who appeared to be completely disinterested in providing us with any sort of service. Some other man (Vick or Vincent), who claimed to be the owner of the store then came in and was very rude and obnoxious telling us that our choice of stereo system was vastly inferior and suggested we "upgrade" to a system many thousands of dollars more expensive. When I calming explained we were on a limited budget he became furious told us we were cheapskates and told us to leave his shop pushing me in the process. My 72 year old sister and I attempted to flee the store but some woman (Sandi or Valerie??) tripped my sister deliberating as we attempted to exit the building, laughing as my sister fell heavily in the process. My suggestion would be to avoid this store at all costs - they are incompetent, rude, arrogant and nasty.
