This is my first experience with a credit card and probably my last. I recieved an offer in the mail for an Aspire Visa card with $300 credit. Filled out everything and sent it in. I was approved. Got card in mail and had to send in $20 to accivate it.

Called their number and was told I could give a check over the phone I said the funds were not in there yet as I get my checks on the 3rd of the month. Was told I could go ahead and give them a check and they promised they would hold it till then. Well like a dummy I did it. Okay I haven't used the card yet and I get my first bill and already owe them 220.00.

Besides that they sent my check in early and it bounced causing an overdraft on my accound and a charge with my bank of 27.00 Plus aspire charged me 35.00 because of it. I have not used my card the first time and this company has already taken back half of the credit they gave me. What a RIP OFF. This is not fair. They have charged me 6.50 monthly account maintenance fee

150.00 annual fee

35.00 non sufficient funds fee

for a total of 220.50 which is almost all of what credit they let me have.

So I ask myself what good did this card do but get me deeper in debt with nothing to show for it. If anyone knows anything that I can do please let me know. Please if you are contacted by VISA/ASPIRE please decline to take a chance like I did. I also called and asked them if my card has not been activated for use how can they charge me these fees already. They said because it was an open account.
