We were extremely satisfied with our KD rectangular (Royalty) pool. After about 6 years of normal use, 3 of the top rails (covered by the liner) began to fade out and turned white. We continued to use the pool and noticed the liner top was getting worse. Arriving home from work, I discovered the pool laying completely flat. As I was looking at the destroyed pool, It became obvious that the liner which covers the top rails had split from one end to the other.

I contacted Vogue Pool Products, and they supplied me with information on warranty proceedures. One of the needed items was the sales receipt. I did not receive a receipt as I purchased the pool on line with a credit card.

After a couple of weeks, I received a letter from Zhuzi Cui stating The damage was beyond their control and with no sales slip, They were not going to help me with the lifetime warranty. He went on to say I could purchase the required parts from a local dealer. (Fat Chance)

The lifetime warranty for the liner is not being honered and I am very unsatisfied with the conclusion.

KD pools went out of business and the company that took over for them KDpools.net refuses to honor the warranty.

So anyone with a KD pool is out of luck. Life lesson learned.

I too was a satisfied owner of a Kd Royalty series 13'X26' rectangular pool. My pool was set up properly, was level and problem free. We always kept the pool clean and followed all manufacturers recommendations. Our pool also began to turn white on the liner along the rails on basically one side. yesterday the pool exploded just minutes after my grandchildren exited the pool and went into the house.

The pressure from the volume of water that was released was so strong that my solid wood picnic table was picked up and slammed into the back of my house. A wrought iron birdbath/water fountain was slammed against a privacy fence shattering metal brackets on the fountain. The pool ladder was thrown some 10 feet from the pool and the legs were snapped. The top side rail of the pool where the liner blew apart, was thrown out at a 90% angle some 6 to 10 feet from the pool. There was no neglect or misuse on our part.

My husband had just gotten up from the picnic table and went in the house with the grandkids. He was looking out the window when the pool exploded. If he or the children had been in the path of the flying debri, they could have been killed. I am not making this up. You can figure the psi from more than 8,000 gallons of water instantly loosed. The shear volume and velosity was unbelievable. KD owes me a new liner period.

I am very angry over this and expect KD pools to make good on their promise. I am not going to shut up until they replace my liner. I am researching to find more complaints of similar nature. I think KD pools is aware of a problem and should have recalled these liners as all new pools come with rim guards. So they were aware of at least the potential for tears.

Had someone been injured or killed this would already be filed as a law suit. They need to realize how dangerous this can be. The next people may not be as lucky as we were. Some one is going to be hurt or killed. Thank God we arent there. However this company needs to be forced to replace liners for anyone who has had one rip apart or explode. Im not done, Im only getting started. I want this company to make good on their claims about the liners they sell. Reciept or not, I will speak to anyone and everyone who will listen on the net, facebook, twitter, the news until I get satisfaction. I refuse to allow them to say this is in anyway my fault. And I will not accept that they do not owe me a liner or will not replace my liner. They owe me and will replace my liner. I am not asking for a new pool, or compensation for all the other damage. I just expect what is due me.

We are a retailer of the KD product for many years now. I have never seen the type of collapse they are claiming unless the pool was not set up right or was abused in some way. Improper installation or abuse is not covered in any manufacture's warranty The customer readily admits they could not produce a sales receipt. Most products purchased require a receipt for replacement. All internet transactions have some form of receipt that you can at least print off at time of purchase. KD requires a sales receipt to insure the consumer was the original purchaser and is covered under their warranty. They should try to contact the company they purchased the pool from to obtain a receipt. KD has been nothing but fair with fair with us and our customers. They have been more than willing to honor any legitimate warranty we have submitted. It is obvious this customer did not meet the requirements for warranty replacement and has decided to vent his frustration with his own faults on this website.
