VW Electric, LLC Volts Watts Electric or Joe Donovan Over charged, took money, lied to come back to work but never, still owe me money. Don't trust or hire this person! Lutz Florida
This guy, known as Joe Donovan, one man shop under VW Electric, LLC or Volts Watts Electric, agreed a fix amount to complete electrical work base on my blue print but he not finish the whole job, promised to come back to complete, but when he collected a big chunk of the money he wanted, he refused to go back to work. I reviewed my plan and found that he did not do some of outlets that he supposed to include for the money that he already got paid for; I sent email text asked if he didnt want to come back then I need my money refund for that portion. Never heard from him again!
I have receipts, email and text which he promised he would come back to complete the job to prove! whatever work left, which he supposed to finish, when I got quote from other licensed electricians, was way more than the remaining balance...meaning that he took a big chunk of my money but did not complete what he supposed to do and left me with the balance that I could not use it to hire other electrician to complete it!!! What a crook! He also claimed that he is a church goer! Really? Please do not hire this guy or give him money upfront! He would be very nice to you when he ask for money, but when you need him to call back he disappear. That is not a professional way to handle business! Not even how a Christian to treat others!

I performed the work contracted and was paid by the homeowner, however when she wanted additional work done for free I did not do it. She also was in default of her contract with the general contractor on the job, so I wasn’t comfortable pursuing any more negotiations with her.

This guy name Robert D Palomino, goes by “Dino” claimed that he “built”house and addition, even had it advertised on his truck but did REALLY shoddy work, collected money and ran off the project! Much worse he left my house water damage all over
First. he low bid to get in, explained the reason it was low cost because he would do the job by himself and allow owner to buy materials so I could get direct price no up charge on material. But the fact was he lives paycheck by pay check, has no money to buy material up front, not hiring enough crew to do the job..continued taking money...claiming that job “almost done”....
When I was aware that job not being done on time, not enough crew, I consulted other professionals/contractors, who informed me that job not only next to nothing done but also wrong shoddy work....then this guy left work site real fast, using intimidation tactic (knowing that homeowner would want to get job finish, work with him to come back to finish), also using excuse that I did not pay him enough, to demand more money in order to come back to work; Much worse, he had his worker to ask for more money...claiming that he would be someone “to handle paperwork from now on!!!” Good thing that I was not that stupid to give money to someone that I did not have signed contract with nor having license!!
Palomino continued using intimidation tactic, having an attorney to write me letter originally claimed that the reason he suspended the job because I didn't pay, but when I asked him to issue a billing invoice he could not,simply because he could not account what the invoice for. When I submitted proof of payments which I paid every single time he issued the billing invoices his story then changed to the reason he abandoned the job because I was complaining too much!
Of course, I had noticed his lack of management skill, lack of labor work, and many other misconduct, therefore I brought them up to his attention and/or record in the activity log. I also have all the text and documents proven that I never once curse or speak inappropriate beside bring up things that need to be addressed in professionally manner.
After he left I have interviewed10-12 contractors, most of them were not willing to take over the project because no one wanted to take over the liability. For those who would take the bids, came back double even triple compare to the original price due to the fact that Palomino bid was not only way low to begin with but also they have to fix the wrong code work done by this guy before they can move forward!!!
Beware of this guy. My battle is soon be rectified and settled but I would prefer to let others know to prevent things like this happened to you!
